Switched Power Supply in Mirror Area?

Hi all, I'm looking to hardware my V1 and hoped someone here could point me to the right wire for a true switched power supply in the mirror area. There is a decent vid for the install on youtube, but he didn't verify if he was using switched power.

I've also had issues with a switched power supply that slowly ramps up and down to help dim lights on my old VW. That messed with the V1 quite a bit so I'd like to avoid this as well.

Advice?

Edit: Here's the link to the aforementioned video:

I used Invisicords hard-wired to the rearview mirror for my V1, in both my f10 535i and f10 M5. The connection is indeed switched. I used the instructions found at the link below to install the Invisicord. Whole thing took less than 10min and is very clean.

Good luck,
