My gas mileage did not change from the day I wired open the valves, it's a"Noise reduction device" for town/low RPM driving. NOTHING else.

Small change in the weight distribution, hence, greater throttle input to compensate? (J/K)

Cool mod however if I were to do this I would probably just wire them open as I don't want another button to push or think about ....everytime I have ever looked and mine (after warmup) they have been open :

And wire = less added weight

Good point! they have to redesign the module and use CF or wireless to reduce the weight

Sooma you need to buy the carbon fiber interior trim to make up for it or just buy a 991TS

First of all you have to select the method... there are two methods:

1. $2 method:
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=998064

2. $129 + tax method:
http://www.exhaustmeister.com

then you are good to go

Yea I should've, my bad

I went to Home Depot during my lunch break to buy aluminum 17 gauge wire to do this mod and non of the geniuses that work there were able to help me find this or similar wires. I'm going to try and use wire hangers that I have laying around and see how well that works.

Dumb questions, can I use heavy duty zip tie or will melt?

zip tie will melt, find garden alloy wire 3 mm.
Steel wire is too inflexible.
Use a broom handle shaved down to hold the flap open.

I found the correct wire in hardware section of home depot (second times a charm). Took me 5 minutes per side.

I would say I only noticed about 5-10 percent increase in noise until 2k rpm. Very minimal increase and I'm glad I didn't end up spending the money on the EM. Nothing against the device and it certainly gives you the luxury of opening and closing the valves with a flick of a button, but for me the gain is minimal (have CP)

Next option might be Turner Exhaust axle back...just wish it would sound like cold start all the time

Glad to hear this because after about a week of use
1st can't imagine driving this car with valves closed again ! Haven't done it but to see the difference and then immediately open valves again which means GUYS GO A HEAD AND WIRE THEM OPEN ALL THE TIME you won't regret it and the fact that I enjoyed control is meaningless when I want them open all the time!! May be for bragging rights onky you may need EM -

2nd it is not 10-15% may be in CP but mime at least 20 % if not 30-35% louder meaner deeper

My 2 cents

Probably a stupid question, but if valves are closed at higher RPM,will it hurt exhaust flow/ performance?

They must be open at high RPM.
