Just to clarify, $45 was for a pair of air scoops. Our friend Nick here is just making these scoops for us for a donation. The intakes are $48-60ea, that's sold by RAMAIR on eBay and you'll need 2qty.

If you get the intakes, you'll need the air scoops as the OEM air inlets are passive (allow the intakes to pull air in, but will not provide fresh air w/o a box). So scoops are essential for open filter intakes on BMWs.

As for the scoops - these fit in perfectly, you just need to spray them black: http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-ve...te-100mm/18905
Do you think I should stick with 150mm base? I don't want the filters to be too big (175mm), they won't let air to flow around them being too tight. What do you think?

Where do you buy the part for the intake that the MAF sensor connects to?

To be safe 150mm, i got that size to keep the filters sunk in nicely to the bottom half of the OEM air boxes - so there closer to the cold feed

exactly, just use a dremel or small cutting tool to the OEM box ends, and the RAMAIR slip straight on as per photo
BUT make sure you clean out all the plastic bits left behind from the cut. Dont want those blowing in ya turbos !!

I am hoping a company sells the tube that the MAF is installed in, since I personally don't want to cut up the OEM air boxes. I will check some places online.

Understood, is easy job though, and easy to replace.. The next mod would be to put the box back on and then have your self a closed in air feed (but i prefer the noise).

I think the only people who make those maf pipes only sell them in the full kit for $thousands

Allow me to clarify. The filters and adapters included in your picture all come out to 46 USD. That is all I will need to slide onto my intake and done. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes but you'll need 2, both filter can't be $46

LOL. $100 is for a pair of RAMAIR "filters" and $45 donation is for a pair of air scoops. Inexpensive mods.

Well, BMS makes the whole intakes for $449. You can decide to install RAMAIR filters with BMW intakes for even more sound.

The ramair filters are about 60 USD shipped from a vendor en ebay. The scoops for 46 USD are separar, they go behind the kidney grills attached to the existing duct. Total you are looking at

60+60+46 = 166 USD

166 buys you half a hood scoop from aFe or RPI
