Adaptive Cruise & park assistant

Anyone know anything about availability (or not) of adaptive cruise? I don't see it mentioned in the ordering guide as standard or optional.... Figured out the lack of park assist due to hydraulic rack...

Active Cruise wasn't available on the M3 even though base models had it, I presumed because that fisheye radar obstructed too much airflow on the M3. M5 might have the same issue?

Regular cruise is standard.

That's off a regular 5-series. Active cruise not offered (as of now) on the M5.

really? why would they have it on the reglar 5 series but not on the top of the line (m5)?

it also would have been a good safety feature - the adaptive braking, to avoid a rear end collision, in city traffic

I think it may be because they don't think it fits the profile of the M5 - active driver vs, driving on cruise control.

I for example never use cruise control ever.

My work requires driving on a 2 lane interstate quiet often for a few hours at a time. Sometimes it's nice to relax and let the automatic cruise control take over on these trips. One of my family members has this in their E550 and I truly wish the M5 had this an option. Oh well, can't have it all...

I have Active Cruise with Stop & Go on my 535xiT and it's the single best option available imho; in city traffic it's a godsend. So I wish the M5 had it too; but can't have everything. Although the E63 has Distronic Plus as an option...

I am disappointed this option is not available on the M5, has me thinking Audi or Mercedes since they do offer it.

I was where you guys are with thinking it was a step down to not have my laser cruise control when I switch from my previous car (Infiniti M45) to the '13 M5. I missed it for about the first month and now (just over a year into M5 ownership), I don't think anything about not having it.

[And I do quite a few long hauls where typical cruise control is used. 26 mile 1-way commute and lots of road trips. I'm at just over 19k for year 1 with the M5.]

Hope this feedback helps or is reassuring.
