Advice on brake pad and rotor change
My M6's CBS says I have 1400 miles for Front Pad service.
Based on my other BMW experience with the M3 and X5, these estimates are based on pad sensor wear indicators. In my past experience, for the X5 and M3, I've swapped out the full set of pads and rotors and on 2 of the 3 occasions, the rotors measured at or close to minimal thickness. However on one occasion, the X5 rear rotor measured well above thickness iirc at about only 60% wear, meaning, I could have saved money by just changing pads. Question: What should I do with with my M6? Do the full swap? Should I buy the tool and measure the thickness first? Front set (pads and rotors) were last changed at unknown mileage possibly 15k miles ago

I agree^ get it measured, can't imagine a new set of rotors/pads would be gone after only 15k miles unless you did a lot heavy braking or track days on them.
