Automatic PDC

Just picked up a 2014 X5 for my wife.... It has an Auto PDC function that comes on automatically when it senses you are too close to something.

I've looked in the menus but can't find anything.... Certainly this function can be activated on our cars?

Is this available on the 2014's with the new Idrive?

There are no settings in any menu I could find, just options to enable markers etc.

Mind posting some pics and what options you went with? We are going to take a look at one this weekend.

PDC and Cameras on the new X5 are the latest and greatest BMW has at the moment.... I think it even has a front panoramic camera... so highly possible this is a feature currently unique to '14 X5s.

source: the recent vides on the BMWUSA youtube channel.

Don't think this is available stock...perhaps coding.
But it would get annoying, say if you were in a city at a crosswalk with people close to your car walking by and the auto PDC blaring away.

Well, we actually bought a launch car that my dealer had. kept it over the weekend, and then I decided that we might as well order one and get exactly what we want...

So, placed an order for a 35Xdrive, Black Sapphire, Black interior, M Sport w/ 20" wheels, Premium Package, drivers assistance & harmon kardon. basic options but all that she really needs.

She has been driving my X5 M for the last year so I needed to get her into something more practical.... it was NOT a fun experience at the dealership... all she kept saying was "how would you feel if I took away YOUR ///M???"

FYI BMW did a great job on it. really nice job on the interior. now its finally on par with the 5 & 7.

Haha, I can imagine. It's good feedback on the interior.
We might wait for the 35D, but my wife said she doesn't want an x5 unless it's the x5 M50D. I am at a loss.
