Replacemnet f10 535xi xenon adaptive headlight came with no cap?

I had a condensation problem in my left headlight and I decided to get a replacement. The one i bought (from ebay) didn’t have that cap at the top of the assembly that you can usually accesss from the engine bay. Instead there is just a sealed circle..Is that access from the cap necessary to install all of the bulbs/modules? or is it just a convenience thing that I can do without? Thanks for any help..

Unusual as it should have the turning cap on top. It's ok to have a little condensation on all these under certain weather conditions but if water is present at base then its replace or seal repair.

M5Rick yeah it was really bad to the point where it started affecting the modules and everything. If anything when I take out the original one I’ll try to get it fixed or plastic welded whatever the issue turns out to be. I jus wasn’t sure if the cap not being on the replacement was a functional issue. thanks though!

Yes that's bad, here's a vid that may help you in eradicating the water.

bimmerfx when I rebuilt my headlights, the black casing did not have the top cover separate like the OE units.

The area where that cover used to mount that now has a blanking plate molded into the housing, with the two plastic nubs on it, will not keep you from replacing bulbs.
