I wish people would post numbers without sales tax and DMV, etc. fees included.....it makes a huge difference considering every state is different. Some states require tax on the full amount of the car to be paid upfront (like here in Illinois), which can add another $10k onto the price. This is opposed to say, Wisconsin, for example...who only charges tax on the monthly payment. It's a huge difference.
Not criticizing...I just think it would give people a more realistic number in terms of what they are paying and what to negotiate. Last edited by mjr24; 03-25-2013 at 12:25 AM.. |

For one thing, is it an open ended lease or closed ended? Essentially, open ended leases do not have a guaranteed residual at lease end. That could mean that you'd have to cough up extra cash to make up the difference in how much you paid and the lease company's residual price once you return the car. I'd also wonder how easy it would be to transfer the lease to someone else mid way through the contract.
