I am still waiting for the M5 so can't say at the mo. I had a decent test in the M5 and was amazed at the torque, it's that factor that really convinced me to buy as I feel it removes the feeling of weight. TTRS was an awesome thing (with a remap) I think people underestimate them - I just think the M5 does so much more. How are you getting on with your M5? Cheers, James BTW your not Simon H from VAGOC are you? |

Yes, thats me. Actually only done about 150 miles in my car, but im already smitten with it. Agree about the torque, it feels immense, well, it did on the car i borrowed from the dealers, before i bought mine. The quality of the car is another point to make about this car, it really is up there with the best. It was either the M5 or a new GT-R, and i have no regrets about buying the M5, its just such an all round fantastic package, performance, quality, sound, presence, and the ability to take all the family, if you so wish. Good luck with your car, when it lands. Keep us up to date with your thoughts, regards, SIMON. |

Haven't seen it but think it would look great if you also black out the chrome. I'm really enjoying it on my Silverstone.
Congrats on MCB. Awesome color.

Really pleased your enjoying it, it makes me feel like I have made the right decision hearing your thoughts - I bet your so pleased you didn't go down the GTR route! I will give you my full thoughts once I get her, I ordered it first week of Jan and won't see it till till end of April - madness! Have you had any thoughts about performance upgrades? I know DMS are offering a remap but they are charging £2500. |

Peronally, I think it would be took dark. If you have Photoshop, you can try and do the transformation on screen and see how it would look and decide whether you like it or not.

I really think you should do it. Like a comment above, it does bring the car "down" a bit visually (as in "lower"). Especially if you add all the black IND stuff. Looks a lot more like a sports car without looking cheesy. |

Don't wrap it because it just won't look that great. If you are sort of a perfectionist you will end up wanting to peel it off.
AMG has the Panamera roof (all glass roof). Painting it black will make it look like that. Really wish M offered the Panamera Roof option.. very cool on the inside and looks great from the outside.

Hi James, Did you order the MCB as well ?. Its a great colour, one of those that changes with different light sources. In the sunshine, which we havent had much of here, it really twinkles, with its metallic finish. Mine has black leather, which is absolutley fine, but i would have loved the lighter leather, if i had specced it myself, but either way is fine with me. Ive ordered the M Performance black kidney grills as well, and will be ordering some black side grills shortly too. Thinking of the carbon rear spoiler as well, which will complete the look for me, As for the remap, im unsure if DMS have actually cracked the ECUs yet?. Im not sure if you know this, but the M5 has 2 intelligent ECUs, that are supposedly able to revert the car back to its original factory settings, within so many miles. Have you spoken to DMS at all ?. Ive only done about 175 miles in my M5 at the moment, and not opened the taps at all yet, so not sure how i feel about any extra noise etc , but the Turner Motorsport rear silencer delete pipes look rather favourable. After studying an opened up rear silencer, someone had played with, there isnt much silencing going on anyway, so removing the silencers altogether, doesnt seem a biggie anyway, and if the same guys that make these pipes, could knock up a sleeved pipe, that would enable the refitting of the original silencers, there would be not much risk in trying this option, will wait and see. On a side note, i was walking around the car the other night, with the engine running, and from some angles near the back, it sounded like an Impreza, ready to blast into a stage, with its BUB BUB BUB exhaust note, it sounded rather bloody good actually. No regrets on choosing the M5 over the GT-R, as the M5 isnt that far behind stock for stock, and my wife is far happier with the BMW, which is always good, and as far as the TT RS goes, i enjoyed that car, although i didnt remap it, as i was bothered about all the misfires, limpmodes and associated problems, that they still seem to be having. Also my daughter outgrew it, and couldnt fit in the back anymore, so we ended up not taking it out, when we should have done, and that finished it for me. We can all get in the M5, in pure luxury, and enjoy it to its fullest, and we now have heated seats in the back to keep her booty warm. Keep us up to date with your M5, regards, SIMON. |

I say no, but only because I prefer the chrome pieces on MCB in particular. I like the black accents on the lighter colors.

Black and blue clash. When I get my M6 I'm going to be tempted to paint the carbon fiber roof to match the body.
