It's just putting some thought and engineering - asking the right questions.

One doesn't have to spend $100K+ to hit 9's...

What are you calculating for total cost? I'm seriously considering having mine built now and swapping the DCT for the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. Watching your build closely!

I was curious about total build cost... only if you are willing to share. I live near a number of the best race engine builders in the world... South Eastern U.S. Obviously, there is trial and error in this and I understand reluctancy on sharing before anything is concrete and proven.

Thx

I am trying to retain normal driveability so it's not an all out race motor.

The guys under Steve building this motor donthr LeMans engines so they are quite experienced with BMW motors. It's not sleeved so there are many tricks with the Alusil liners used, piston coatings etc.

Cant wait for more progress on this. 1200HP to the wheels will be a hell of alot of get up and go... keeping the drivability will be an added bonus

Exciting! Do they drop it in with a hoist, or lift it in from the bottom? Transmission attached or is that done after? I hope everything in the power train holds up for you! Pictures if you can, please!
