Maintenance package carry over

I bought my M5 used with CPO about a year and a 3 months ago. Its a 2015 with a build date of late 2014. I bought numerous used and CPO cars from BMW in the past and the maintenance package/coveraged always carried with the car until 4yrs/50k miles of the car.

Today, I dropped off my M5 for maintenance service. As part of the 10k miles, or second maintenance service they call it, I was advise that the maintenance plan does not carry over to car that have a build date after 9/2014. The service for today includes, oil change, brake fluid change, battery and one other thing I forgot.

My questions are:
1) are there any truth or has anybody heard of the maintenance policy change that it doesnt carry over to the new ower of the pre-owned/CPO cars like it used to?
2) Replace battery as part of the maintenance for a 2 year old car?

Any feedback will be appreciated so I can go back to my SA. The cost of the battery scares me since it's BMW battery...

Thanks in advance!

Basically they did drop the maintenance for 2015 and up CPO cars. And dropped it to 3 yrs and 36000 miles with NO brake jobs for new cars. My 2013 CPO still has free maintenance and brakes(just got new pads and rotors at 45000 miles two weeks ago) until 12/2/2017 .

Im happy to report that my maintenance carried over along with my CPO warranty. I was able to get the replacement battery among other things covered.

Thanks All!

My understanding is you can 'refresh' the maintenance plan on these 2015 / 2016 cars for a fee of like $700. Once that is done it reinstates the original 4 year / 50k maintenance plan (still based on original delivery date). You must do that at the time of sale from a BMW dealer. That is what I was told anyway.
