Amazing Cars

I really appreciate the information I have gotten from this forum (and the M6 forum), but sometimes it gets a bit much with people always quibbling about the M5 and M6, or agonizing about buying these cars. I took ED of my M6 in September, then Performance Center Delivery in November, and last year was driving on the Autobahn, in an M5, going 180 mph (traffic limited, or would have easily gone 200 mph). BTW -- have a bit more than 4000 miles on my car, and so far, only had to add one quart of oil, and get over 20 mpg in highway driving.

These are amazing cars -- fun to drive, luxurious, have a great stereo, and are faster than just about anything else on the road (including most Porsches, some Ferraris, etc.), yet are practical. I was reminded of this all yesterday, drving my car on the highway, and making my way through traffic. And while many have complained about the heft of these cars, in the right hands they can be extremely nimble, and the weight contributes to a stable platform for GT cruising. We are so fortunate to have the means to buy such cars, and for my needs, this is the perfect car, and I would not buy anything else at any price.

Just remember people on M5post are perfectionists and true enthusiasts. They will always be forming their judgements about the way things can be improved. Its just the nature of exotic cars/M cars. This car is truly a GAME CHANGER.

I couldn't agree more....it's quite refreshing to have someone sing the praises of the amazingly engineered machines!

So true. I was just amazed the other day that my car was able to hang pretty close to my neighbors Porsche GT3 driving up the twists to my house. My neighbor was amazed too.

Does the M6 not have the same speed limiter as the M5?

I was in a Euro spec M5, with no US limiter. Like any stock US spec M5, my M6 is limited to 155 mph.

Oops I missed that in your original post. I was hoping there would be a speed limiter unlock thru coding by the time I did my euro delivery but no such luck
