dyno says 781 whp!!!!!

well took my car on monday for tunning after the methanol placement... my car has msr intake, charge pipe, ipe exhaust , ams downpipe and JB4...
gas was 93oct
map 2 on 4th gear was 680 whp
map 8 meth 75 additive 4th gear 715
map 8 meth 75 add... 5th gear 765 whp
map 8 merh 100 add 5th gear 781...
ok I know is 5th gear but we saw a few thing on las pull either the transmission went on limp mode at around 6,000 rpm were it reached 781 or the speed limiter activated, but we are pretty sure it was the transmission... the engine just keep going and turbos didn't max out...
I will add the dyno..

Exactly what I was thinking. Dyno graphs look surprisingly similar. :

Anyway what's the point if you aren't running a stack? Hitting the limiter must be balls man..

Is everyone 781whp now?

You can't run 100 on Map 8. It's impossible for stock turbos to flow enough air to make 750+ real horsepower.

I want to see VBOX times. With this power you need to match or beat my 6.2s

It's very hard to understand since none of that was explained in either one of the specific posts.

Understood....

I know because the guy who did the work emailed me the dyno graph with mods listed and the owner of the car is a loyal customer of mine. He's a doc so I don't think he really cares on the details other then his car running strong and being happy with his results.

I can't give any details for I'm not there to know how the car was tuned by the tuner and what adjustments they made when running the JB4.

Hopefully the tuner can chime in to give some light. If he doesn't will just have to wait and see as others push the envelope. I would have data to post but I need clutches before my car can get on the Dyno to prove its power potential

From my experience I feel the Dyno is showing about 50whp above normal figures. Just by map 2 showing 680whp that's usually around 630whp at my biddies Dyno. So the 780 would be around 730whp. That is my opinion not a fact. If it's truly 780 whp that's awesome a great results.

Good luck Doc, glad your car is showing some impressive gains. Enjoy it and keep me in the loop

Thanks for the clarification George. Numbers look great! Would be great to see more detailed info on the tune.

Guys look I hope this engine can make all this power like we see on these crazy dyno's but up to now we have 1 10 second slip out of all these cars. At that power lever with some DR our cars should go about 10.50 if not faster and trap about 133 or more. Up to now all we have is crazy dyno's and 1 10 second car.

1 other question, what boost level does it take to do this, I would think upwards of 28psi. Can our turbo's do that? IF so what about the injectors, they aren't maxed out?

I'm ready to give it a run. I only put down 950whp and 875wtrq at 29psi on a mustang dyno that reads about 17% lower than Dynojets

My M6 did 10.7 @ 129mph with just jb4 meth and bolt ons

On my M5 with custom tune and BCM pushing boost at 28lbs boost the car is a lot faster then my M6 was then, the issue now is traction and I don't think anyone will get close to a low 10 second pass. It will be hard to find a happy medium to get a perfect launch to show its true potential. The best place for our cars with these power figures are highway races or Vbox but even a Vbox doesn't prove who is stringer then the other unless the runs are done on the same road in order to be comparable. Some even find a road with a negative slope to get the best numbers they can. Either way it's just the beginning so with time you'll start to see more and more M's in the 750-800whp figures.

As for turbo upgrades I feel the best option is to wait for larger internals then just going the hybrid solutions. Once again that's my opinion some may disagree.

As for my M5 My issue is clutches, at least for dynoing the car. Once I upgrade the clutches will see what the Dyno will show. But I can say the car is a lot faster with the BCM pushing boost.

My customer in NJ has upgraded his clutches so we see what tuned and BCM will show here in the states. My guess 750-780 whp and as long as he's using 20" wheels. 21's have proven to show 20-30whp less in the Dyno

Anyway great job Doc keep us in the loop

I have 1/2 time-slips and VBOX 1/4 traps 132-136. Traction is a b***h on these. I have some M/T to try at the next Bakersfield event Dec 12th so lets see what happens there (it should be cool finally).

60-130 is 6.2s (with slope) and 6.3s (< 1% slope) and 100-200 is 5.3s - both VBOX verified

That makes more sense. 781whp on Map 8 is next to impossible especially with stock turbos

Totally agree people start slapping 3076R,35R,37 sized turbos on these cars or something its not if you might hit a breaking point its when.

My recommendation if you're having clutch issues call the master. John Shep is doing DCT BMW trans [m4 record] My shep trans stage 4 has been out of this world.

Look forward to this - please also record VBOX results as some 1/2 mile events tend to be longer or shorter....

At shift-s3ctor MPH's were within 1mph, so they had setup the distance quite accurately,
