Dinan Stage 2 + dinan Intake install

So I just installed the Dinan stage 2 and dinan intake. Three times now I have had the drivetrain malfunction warning.

I have cleared the code three times.

The code I get is 102002- air mass, meter plausibility: air mass netter low

Any thoughts?

Check you're air flow sensor which connects to the intakes. Could be disconnected so push them down and ensure its connected to the new intakes.

Ignore the intake type. I'm just showing you what I'm talking about. The black connection on each pipe. Left and right.

If that doesn't work, check the dinan connections. It's all plug and play.

So I took the car in to the dealer after still getting the Malfuntion light.

The BMW dealer said it is the 121301 charging pressure sensor 2.

Did you get the Dinantronics installed by a Dinan dealer ?
Did you make sure that the software files are current ?
There are 2 software programs that get updated thru the programming.
Was the ECU and Dinantronic connections cleaned with the appropriate connector cleaner that is supplied with the installation kit ?
When you clear the code, what ECU is the code being stored in and how long does it take to come back ?
How many ignition cycles and is it on start up or happens after driving for a distance ?
Do you have any supplemental information regarding the code aside from the fault code number ?

Let me know after you check these and I can assist. I know its a lot of questions but they all are important and its the same questions you would get if you speak to Dinan tech support.
I am a Authorized Dinan dealer for 11 years and have installed countless Dinantronics of the M5/M6 platform and have experienced different situations, and they all have been corrected 100%

The highest cost and lowest output. People pay $$Dinan$$ prices for the warranty, so hopefully that pans out. I'm curious what this code is as well since I've got two codes for charging pressure as well on my X5M.

What tune or harness do you have on your X5M ?
And yes Dinan is more money for the product but aside from the warranty aspect which Dinan does back up 100%.
If you have been able to drive other "piggy back" tuned M's there is a huge difference in performance and how the vehicle actually performs.
All harnesses' are not the same. And the Dinan product is not a weak performing tune at all.

I have a flash tune created by www.morepower.dk who goes by the screen name Lfelunden. I've had these codes since I bought the truck after using ISTA/D, I did find a lose/torn charge pipe gasket I need to replace, but I'm still curious if I need to look into things further.

Did you replace the torn charge pipe ?
What exact codes are you getting from your ISTA ?
I have experienced different codes in relation to this.
I can reference what I have and possible give you some input.

I've been having reduced power warnings pretty much since I got the truck about 6 months ago. I went through a list of repairs and replacement parts, talking with Halim the whole time, who's been very helpful. I just happen to find this torn tube over the weekend after coming back from Bimmerfest. I'm going on another vacation starting tomorrow, so I'll replace more as needed in a week. Here's pics of the torn tube and a crappy phone pic of ISTA/D codes I got. I'll be replacing the torn tube, a couple sensors and a turbo coolant pump after I return.

My car went into limp mode the other day and wouldn't drive over a few mph. Had it towed to BMW and these are the codes. My local BMW dealer will not touch dinan parts and told me to take it somewhere to get it removed to see if it's the tune causing this problem.

You should get the name of the person at that dealership and call Dinan and explain to them who said that and what is going on.
Dinan will handle your situation.

Problem is it's not under warranty. I bought the tune from a forum member. Dinan wants $1800 to update my vin info to that tune.

So took to a dinan dealer and removed the dinan stage 2 tune for now, this is allow us to focus on one thing at a time. I have one of the older filters for the dinan cold are intakes. Dinan is sending the new cylinder style ones, dinan believes this could be the issue!

Without the dinan stage 2 I haven't had the malfunction warning yet. So is it really the intakes? Or the tune? I drove home which is 70miles from where the dinan dealer is.

The dealer did update the new firmware on the stage 2.

Let me know your guys thoughts.

Its the intake. The filter specifically. The M5 had 3 different variants when it comes to the air box. We did not know this upon the first release and the first few months we were chasing these issues and rectifying all the variants so they worked properly. They have all been resolved at this point though.

I assume you are still running around with the old filters at this point and not the tune until the new filters come in. Basically the combination of the tune and old filters throws the car over the edge of what its acceptable tolerances are. With only one or the other though its within those safe limits which is why you are not having the warning now.

Regardless, P-Tech will get that end of it all squared away for you.

So I haven't made it back to pTech to reinstall the stage 2 and put in the new filer.
Today I was driving normal speeds and the CEL came on.

Any thoughts?

Fault codes ?
Without the correct stage map and filters, I would wait to get that installed.
But it would be interesting the codes if they are the same or different.
