Akrapovic Exhaust Tip Dimension???
I’ve looked all around the net and can’t find the specs… does anyone know the inlet diameter, the length, and the outlet diameter of the Akrapovic / M performance exhaust system tips for the F10 M5?

Thanks M5Rick, I believe that your statement is correct. In fact it speaks more to my exploration. I have a pre-owned Akrapovic system that I am picking up that does not have tips. Akra and OEM tips for it can be $$$, so I’ve been trying to find the inlet and length dimensions on the Akra and OEM tips to score something far less pricey that will fit.
OEM M5 and the M Comp. exhaust I believe have 63mm inlet for tips…can’t find Akra’s inlet size though. �� |

It's 70mm inlets for the standard and Comp aftermarket exhaust tips, that's what mine are.
* Too add, measure the exhaust end diameters when you receive your AK system to be sure you purchase the correct size tips that fit snugly. Last edited by M5Rick; 10-10-2023 at 09:24 AM.. |

Excuse the dodgy pics, but just checked my genuine Akra/M Perf tips. The inlet is 70mm, length 160mm. It looks like 71-2mm in the pic but there is another ring part inside that reduces it further by 1-2mm, therefore the outlets on the exhaust are 70mm. The outlets on the Akra are slightly further apart than the standard system, so you can fit 100mm tips with a gap between. You can’t go bigger than 90mm with standard system without the two tips clashing.

I’m not a fan of carbon on exhaust tips, so had these 4” stainless tips made. Basically twin walled, slant cut, 4” outer, 3” inner, with a 3” tube welded in and slotted and attached using the Akra clamps if that makes sense?!

Thanks again M5Rick for chiming in. Also thanks to M5rosco for going the extra mile and measuring the genuine exhaust tips. That’s exactly what I needed. Good idea on the custom tips. I am not a fan of the carbon tips and I don’t wanna pay $1200 USD for the genuine BMW titanium ones either. Although I do like how they look.

same here i have akra/mpe exhaust with carbon tips, got damaged from the heat, bought custom SS tips with M logo engraving from deikin_exhaust
they can do all types of custom SS or titanium exhaust, very good quality. photos before shipping to me from factory with dimensions.

Sup gents, it’s me again. I secured the muffler tips I needed based on the measurements from our conversations, so thanks again.
New questions… 1 - Does anyone know the diameter of the 4 clamps used for the Akra pipe sections? (not the clamps for the tips) Can’t seem to get answers from Akrapovic about replacement clamps, I keep being referred to Akra dealers… 2 - Aside from BMW dealership, does anyone have an idea of where to get a high quality replacement clamps that will work as good and stand up as good as the originals? Not sure about the quality of some of cheaper clamps on eBay, heck I don’t even have the diameter yet! Haha |
