KW V3 report
Have driven about 200 miles after the installation of the KW V3 kit in my M5 and I'm very happy with it. My first impressions are that it is supple and smoothly compliant. The spring rate feels just slightly stiffer than the stock non-CP springs, but I believe the real difference is in the shocks. They give me the impression of reacting more smoothly, but still stopping the movement of the suspension more quickly to maintain chassis composure.
I already have the CP sway bar and cornering lean is about the same as it was before the V3. Even though the roads are still cold here in Michigan, the car feels more planted from the slight increase in negative camber the drop has given it. I haven't aligned it yet, want to run in the springs before I do. I installed the kit with about two turns of the spring perch from minimum installed spring height, which would give the car the least drop possible. At this point the suspension is 1/2" lower in front and the rear dropped 5/8". I left the shock settings at the delivered positions: Front rebound 6 clicks, Front bump 4 clicks, Rear rebound 9 clicks, Rear bump 5 clicks and these seem just fine for my street driving. I will try slight variations for the track when I'm able to test those settings. I'd recommend this kit for anyone interested in a better feel for the road. The only thing you lose is the slightly less rigid ride of Comfort on the stock suspension. But still the supple feel of the V3 isn't intrusive, and you have more control. A worthwhile upgrade. Thought to mention the EDC delete module KW supplies. They include many zip ties to fasten both the front and rear modules, some with the very handy grips which are able to attach to the shock tower as shown on the front in the picture. The rear modules just plug straight into the stock wiring harness, the fronts require you to disassemble the EDC wire connector from the stock loom and attach a connector which KW supplies that will connect with their delete module. It's a little bit of a hassle and you need to be careful with the wiring, but the use of them eliminates the warning triangle on the dash which appears if you don't use them.
