yh, thats the biggest problem for me after m3, i really feel the weight difference, but i knew what it is and why i want it.
its just different type of fun!
if u want lightweight 4door, wait for another 8-9 months until f30 m3 will hit the showrooms

u cant go wrong with any M, just make sure u buy one for your needs, not for the exterior look or its price
Thanks... Agree
Same thing here, as I used to own 2008 E60 5-Series...
I believe the F10 is heavier but that should not be an issue for me..

Exactly, i like/want the dual personality it presents.

It should satisfy most of my requirements.

night vision (expensive, but saved a pedestrian once by bringing the 'recognized pedestrian' to Heads Up Display so up to consideration)

Otherwise a very good car. No regrets
Thanks

Appreciate the feedback and agree with most of it.
Still hope that the rear seat entertainment new generation would be better in resolution, so my daughter can enjoy it!

You'll need another.
I am more of the 1st category.
I still feel if once in a month i wanted to have such drive, then i should enjoy it more than driving a lot of other cars..

I don't own a M5 (yet), nor have I seen the new gen's rear entertainment capabilities, but realistically it won't be able to match the iPad's features and flexibility. If I not mistaken it's DVD based? Who uses DVDs anymore?

Some of the experts have been predicting the demise of physical media («Google search) for years. IMO its dying a slow death.

I coded my M5 myself, the ventilated seats default setting was 30C (86F, =too hot!), I set to 19c, night and day, I can help the coding if in bay area.

They work for me. The issue is their usefulness depends what clothing you are wearing. I wear mostly suits, tropical wool, linen and cotton trousers. These more breathable fabrics work well with the seat ventilation. Denim and other heavy fabrics don't.

I haven't tested the seats on all the cars mentioned here, but in my experience these are some of the better ventilated seats. The only better one I've tried is Porsches.

I ticked every box on my M5
EXCEPTED the rear entertainment, its point less - the kids are in an M5 its up to the driver to entertain them by using the pedals on the floor. Ipads are the best choice if you do need movies though.

The only problem I find with cooled seats is the durability, with all the little holes in the leather it doesn't take much to tear the leather.

I just got out of my 2008 E60 and have only had my M5 for 2 weeks so I know it's still "new", but will keep this car at least 10 yrs (I am serious and not being sarcastic)... My biggest adjustments were its size and weight. But hot diggity damn this car can move and I suffer from torque-smile as opposed to torque-steer. An M5 will NEVER be as nimble as an M3, but it's a power-hauler... I think in a more balanced & refined way than an AMG. For me the pluses outweigh the minuses and I am already getting used to the size (naturally)... The break-in service can't come soon enough!
