BMS tune with AMS downpipes....fast AF

Installed the BMS tune a few weeks ago which was great. Installed AMS downpipes and the car is a whole new beast. Quicker exhaust spool, more torque and crispy shift farts. Do it if youre contemplating either mod!

Catted or Catless DPs
Any issue with O2 sensor positions i.e. did the installer need extenders?

Thanks

Have anyone heard of the microcats from supersprint that supposedly does not give a CEL light on uncatted downpipes?

I have them and they don't work . You will get a different code but the CEL light will still go on . Instead of a catylzer inefficiency code you get a lean to rich O2 sensor code as initially the secondary sensor sees less than expected then it catches up . Our ECU's are very picky about emissions .

Yeah, I have the SS microcats too with their race cats. Don't work. Clearing the codes is usually good for about a day.

Only takes a few hours. It is pretty simple actually as long as you can get underneath your car. Jack stands may be a little difficult and that's only due to lining up the bottom portion of your downpipe into the bracket.
Depending on what someone is charging labor the job is about 5-6 hours.
Make sure to replace the gaskets on both ends of the exhaust pipe. They tend to fall apart after removal a few times.

Thanks, I'm still debating on getting one installed. Seems like the consensus is CEL light is inevitable unless we get some kind of Tune or Coding to remove it permanently. What is the downside of running with the CEL Light on? degrade performance?

Sal and his team did my BMS Tune and my AMS Downpipes -- all I can say is wow! I was previously running midpipes and exhaust only. I then did the BMS tune with Sal, which he installed at Bimmerfest. A few months later, I had Sal and his team install the downpipes. I also have the Comp Package -- the noticeable changes after each addition was astonishing! I also run the car on 100 Octane Cam2 Race Fuel. I highly recommend Sal and his team at AUTOCouture, if you live in the Tri-State Area. And if you are considering these upgrades, stop and just do it!

For US Spec DME's the microcats are useless. SS Italy claims the microcats work on the Euro DME's.

No issues! I LOVE my car!!! It's an absolute beast, especially when I run 100 Octane vs 93 Octane.
