United States ordering

Just want to get a tally of who's in the US just itching to get the new M5. Where are you located and how is your dealer working out for you?

Lot of itching ... not much scratching.

My guess is hundreds if not thousands nationwide. I thought buying a Ferrari was a joke. This appears to be the same shit!

Correction, the process of buying a Ferrari is a joke!

Just to clear things up, i talked to my dealer a couple days ago he said someone was claiming they had a U.S production number, but that is false. He said we will most likely get them in june.

Quite honestly, thats the only answer that makes any sense.

I talked to 5 dealers today. Most dealers are just getting orders in now. Of course not all dealers get the same allocation. Some are marking up to $25K over MSRP. Some just don't because they know that's shady business, but they have a wait list.

I wonder how much money it takes to move up the list?

Could you be more specific how to track your M5 order via a production number. I thought you can only do the tracking if you have the VIN. The attachment you provided only shows a screen capture of "Track My 2013 M5 Sedan" and does not give details.

you can only view that page with a production number or last 7 of the vin number..

I don't have a vin number only a prod number.

Go to BMWUSA.com
select My BMW
Sign in or Sign up
Select Add / Remove vehicle
there is an option to either enter the production number or the last 7 digits of the Vin
enter the prod number
now you can track the vehicle

hope this helps

Did BMW give you a date when they expect production to start. I've been told M5's don't start production until July 2012. This also makes sense because the new navigation goes into production in July as well.

Thanks for the help, not suprising my dealer is wrong. So what the case seems to be here is that their going randomly by dealership. My dealer told me large dealers will get theirs first, and my dealer is a large dealer. So this is stupid.

how about these people wanting to pay 25k over MSRP instead do ED and spend some of that markup on an European vacation? Makes sense to me?
