Whew! My own thread was starting to cause me palpitations. Back to a fun build!

Man, lots of camaraderie out there with us Silverstone guys. Last two were Carbon Black and I never heard form anyone. 3 weeks with SS and everyone says hello.

VERY happy to report that the Eisenmann Race is now installed with properly plugged and sealed vacuum lines and car is running PERFECTLY and SOUNDING even better. I cannot get over how quiet it is in the cabin of the car. Nearly non-existent exhaust noise with the windows rolled up and a beautiful deep throaty note when windows are down and from the exterior of the vehicle.

Thanks again to Ilia at IND for stellar, above and beyond customer service in effectively finding a successful resolution. I could not be more pleased with my dealing with everyone at IND and Ilia exemplifies what they stand for.

Special thanks to Tim and Don at Bimmers Service Center and their new Roswell location. I have used Tim at his first shop and the service has always been A+ as his his reputation suggests. Luckily, I got to be the "official" first customer at the new place. Special care was taken to properly seal the lines and to perfectly align the tips evenly. They also performed a very quick removal of the charcoal filters. Car is running like a top.

Next step-HRES101s and H&R Springs.

I have decided to do a little "modification" to the exhaust after all of this-haha! I should have it end of next week or early following week and pics will be up!

Downpipes and modified exhaust exhaust installed. Happy to report zero odor, sounds very nice (low grumble-very sporty-just a bit louder than stock) and ridiculously fast. Basically spins the tires at will. First run from standing still in D3 she spun the rear end out shifting into 3rd in MDM. :-)

Very happy.

I need to note that I used the term "BMW Performance" to describe a few intended upgrades. They are not BMW parts and not represented to me as such. They are modified parts (tune is a totally custom tune) that are the basis for the mods. They are modified to be higher performance. Again, not sold by BMW or represented as BMW parts. I frankly was expressing that we were modding parts and not using aftermarket built parts. I never made the connection to "BMW Performance", the actual line of BMW stuff that is sold. My bad-foot in mouth.

Great to see it all works out !

Also good to see they didn't have to loosen/move the turbo chargers as (re) aligning them would require special tooling and probably not much fun
It's a pretty impressive piece of machinery

Yeah, less painful than I anticipated. Thought I wouldn't have her back until tomorrow. Probably the best upgrade so far. It really gets into the power quickly.

Also, I have deleted the Eisenmann Race exhaust after installation. Not the sound nor visual effect that I was looking for.. Instead have permanently open the valves on the stock exhaust and it now gives a throatier, deeper and slightly louder exhaust note. Waiting on custom tips.
how do you do this???

When I had that OEM exhaust on they plugged the vacuum lines and physically hard wired the valves open with aluminum wire. I still have the exhaust in the garage. I will take pics and post them.

Yeah, it is a nice cheap mod. Be careful to properly plug those vacuum lines or you will have a lot of performance loss. Be sure to seal it with RTV (any auto supply store carries it for about $5)around the plug and the joint between the plug and the line. Will form a perfect seal. Otherwise car drives like it is a non-turbo. Also, tuck the lines away where they will not be bouncing around when you drive so there is no risk of the plug coming out. RTV would likely prevent that anyway but just in case.

As you can see the valves are just simply held open with the wire. Very easy DIY mod.

Looks great. What kind of clear bra did you get? Do you see anything different if you look at the clear bra'd parts with polarized sunglasses?

I ask because I had some dark appearing areas after Ventureshield with my SSII M3.

lol! Yes I do! It is Suntek. You see nothing at all without polarized glasses but when you get close with polarized glasses you see dark areas. Doesn't bother me.

That's exactly how my '08 was. Got some funny looks in the summer when people wearing sunglasses would walk by - was invisible without sunglasses. I decided not to clear bra my '11 M3 with the idea that I would respray if/when necessary. I promptly got a couple of rock chips

Anyways love your color choice - the stripe on the spoiler looks great. Thinking about adding a M5 but not sure two SSII cars makes sense.

Will it hurt to wire open the valves but leave the vacuum line connected so you don't have any seal issues?
