It was a listing on cars.com by a private seller. It's been taken down but I still have his number if you want to get a hold of him.

I love my m6 gran coupe. I had an f10 which I traded in for my GC in July. I just recently purchased an s63 coupe to try something other than BMW. The Benz is pure luxury but the m6 is also exotic and way more fun to drive. Go m6!

That s63 amg coupe is something special. Its not as pretty as the m6 to me but it has serious road presence.

I might pushthe buy date into 2015 so that prices fall some more on the 2014, but not sure how much they will fall. I kind of want lane deperature, top and side view cameras and so on, so unless I can get that in a 2014 for around $70k-$72k, I think I'll have to go with a 2013. You going to CPO your car or not?
Yeah I'm gonna get an aftermarket warranty of some sort most likely. I still have yet to do a lot of research. I'll see what BMW offers and other 3rd party companies. The warranty that my bank offers (USAA) wants $7,000 for up to 100,000miles. I'm hoping to find a better deal than that. The good thing with the USAA warranty is that there is no deductable and they don't care about mods to the car.

It was like $3300 to CPO my 550, but I ended up not doing it because I won't keep it..... I think an M5 can be CPOed for around $5000 if not less.

That's cool.

So what spec are you looking for on your future M5? There are some cool Individual used 13's out there, but you have to look for them.

Specs wise on the M5, I'd like to get the Driver Assistance Package w/ top and side view cameras since I'll be moving out of my dorm on campus and into a condo as a junior.

It's down now to whether I get a 2013 M5 or 2014 M5 like you mentioned. I am down to two Alpine Whites. Both have Black interior w/ different rims, but I have my own set of 343m rims I'll be using.

Due my budget, it's one or the other:

2013 M5 w/ Driver Assistance

Mods: Akrapovic Exhaust w/ Carbon Fiber tips, Dinan S2 tune, Vossen rims as secondary set of wheels, Vorstein carbon fiber parts, KW coilovers,

2014 M5 w/ Driver Assistance

Mods: None, or at least none in the foreseeable future other than maybe a black grille.

At this point, I am leaning towards the 2013 M5 because it has 7k miles and costs $63,500, about $17-$20,000 less than the 2014s. With that kind of money I can make my 2013 faster and look damn good. Here is a before and after picture of my 550i I modded. Total cost was less than $4,000 in parts.

Mileage between the 2013 and 2014 are within 1k of each other. Yes, the 2014 has an extra year of coverage, but I can CPO the 2013 for around $4500. Here's what the schedule looks like if I get the a 2013:

Feb- Purchase 2013 M5 for ~$65,000 out the door incl. shipping
Feb- Wrap car in Matte White and powder coat rims black ~$3000
Mar- Mods 1(black grille, painted reflectors, & matte side markers) ~$500
Mar- Mods 2(Akropovic w/ carbon tips & Coilovers) ~$10,000
Apr- Mods 3(Carbon Fiber parts) ~$4000
Apr- Mods 4(Dinan S2 tune) ~$4000

Well, the money is now in my account. The M5 here locally, has been sold. So the quest for my next M5 is underway. I already have alerts setup for low mileage 2013+ M5 for < $67,500. I have bookmarks for autotrader, cars, and eBay. Any other websites I should be lurking on?

Not sure if need to knock head against wood here re winter and the R8. If it's not going to be a garage queen it's a no brainer to winterize the R8 w/ some snows and drive that bad boy year around. Guarantee it will turn even more heads when you're slowly drifting corners in Omaha with 2in of snow. People will just point and laugh when the M is in the ditch.

The R8 is the only car you mentioned getting a DD to accompany ...QUATTRO?

R8 in the winter? I literally struggled to put power down on my 550 when there was less than 2" of snow. The dumbasses here in Omaha don't put out liquid deicer until it's like 4AM so if it start snowing at 8 or 9 PM, you're fucked.

I test drove a 550Xi and loved it. Really miss the XDrive system and the pricing on a used 2014 CPO 550i XDrive is ridiculous. It was loaded with HUD, Full leather, cold weather, DHP, and so on for around $64k.

I mean it's now a question of 2014 550Xi vs 2013 M5.....

Just put my deposit down on a 2013 M5. 38k miles, CPO with B&O, Drivers Assistance, Exec, and Full Leather.

Paperwork will be done by Wednesday and I should have the car here by 1/16/2014.

Just ordered a Akra w/ Carbon Fiber tips, a Dinan S2 tune, and the usual color matching reflectors.

Looking to order a full Vorsteiner carbon fiber kit, catless downpipes, and 20" HREs.

I know, I am considering canceling the order. It was $7000 shipped. However, it only gives you about +10HP. But I love the carbon fiber tips with Akra lettering on them. Doesn't the RPi do something +15 or +20 HP?

I bought the full Akra just because then I don't have to worry about getting downpipes, CELs, and etc. It'sa full exhaust, but I am more than open to other options especially if it's cheaper and/or gives more performance.

Got a call last night that the shipment would be delayed because the truck was going to make some unexpected stops. Decided to fly out to Indiana and drive the car back to Nebraska. Got the car today! About 200 miles in, another 400 to go. Pics will be up soon.
