All this means is those who want LCI "new black chrome" should save their money and get the standard chrome painted gloss black (668). Call IND they should have a set of non LCI they can paint for you.

http://www.avlnch.com/aaron/m5post/diy-nv/ DrKevM5 has been able to replicate with success as well. See my thread on this as it explains everything with the parts you need, parts you need to modify, etc. Short version is: need the grille, need the updated back plate, and need some glue + a dremel tool. Need to trim the tabs on the backplate so that the backplate secures it's self into the NV housing. Also need to modify the backplate (break off a few tabs) so that the NV camera can be glued onto the backplate. Once that is done you snap it all together, verify alignment, and install into the car. I am typing this on my phone.. when I find the thread on my computer I will ping you from it. So just check your alerts for the link.

Avlnch totally hooked this install up. The only thing I did different was drill the backplate for the original screws as opposed to gluing the cam to it. Get it coded for always on also.

Curious to know more about that and if you took any photos.. as it's defiantly a cleaner install method.

Had to look at photos to remember why I didn't drill new holes.
- did you modify the metal studs on the NV or leave them alone? - top left, it wasn't too close to the edge? - the new holes didn't overlap with the existing holes causing a loose fit? or did you use a washer and heavily torque it down?
