Brake Rotors cracking
So today got the call from BMW that BMWNA said they would do a 1 time good will for me because my two front rotors are cracking at the drilled holes, and here is the kicker all FOUR show significant amount of blue colors indicating overheating, so BMWNA thinks I track the car but its never seen the track and that its not normal wear and tare and wouldn't be covered under my 4/40k
Got 17000 miles out of my supersports on the rears and they're at 1mm left lol But I'm just kinda shocked BMWs second most expensive performance car that I'm not allowed to use the vehicle within spec (who cares if I stop from triple digits a LOT) I'm trying to get the dealer to get pictures of all four rotors, but I have some of the fronts cracking at home I'll upload later. |

... so BMWNA thinks the M5 is made for pleasure cruising only. If so, then why charge $100K+, they should be charging 50% for local street use. A fully loaded Honda Accord would do the same job.

lol and almost all the miles were winter miles since it snowed like nuts up until March I couldn't agree more, I asked my SA to say thank you to whoever approved the good will but again its absurd given the car I purchased... Not like I brought in a 320i with those problems. |

What I said was its absurd that they classify their own performance car being used exclusively on the street as unusual wear. I didn't say anything about brakes not wearing down. Fail |

And you missed the point entirely [probably the coffee buzz ] there was no complaint more an observation of practices, and I'd bet good money if NA didn't see I've bought 7 cars in 39 months they might be a little less accommodating, that said they are more accommodating then our MB dealer and Porsche dealer when dealing with nitpicky issues. Enjoy the coffee |

I like this "one time good will" since they have done it several times for me on my previous 650i . One time for unusual worn tire and another time for unusual worn rotor. And yes I had never tracked my car

So my wear is not the same as someone that might hit 120 once a month or even once a week lol. CCB as gmd would probably say will help with extending the life of the rotors as they are more tailored to that kind of abuse, that said you could eat through those in a few track sessions as well. |

You know how many people will get heart attack if they think their brakes are POS??? lol.... just revise the thread's title and change it to " how to abuse rotors" (JK)
