I had clear on my last car and removed it a week later. I love the look of polished paint. The seams and edges of the clear drive me just as crazy as the rock chips. I lease my cars so I just decide to go naked.

If it were a listed option in the US, which it's not, then they would give it a fixed price in dollars. For instance, he paid $3,500 for black full Merino leather because that's a listed option. It doesn't fluctuate with the currency conversion rates. As far as Individual paint goes, we have a fixed price of $1,950 for everything except Frozen Bronze, which is $3,500. Anything not listed will run you at least $5,000. That's the starting price and then it just goes up from there depending on what you want. |

It's difficult to describe what it looks likes in person. I had a 13 Alpine White M5 and this paint just shows of the lines better. It doesn't look painted, more like the car panels were forged or cast out of mother of pearl or abalone. The car just looks fluid and the paint deep. Don't get me wrong it is silver but a deeper more fluid looking silver. If anyone is in OC or Southern California I'm around to meet up. Maybe I will go to the last Cars and Coffee next Saturday.

Pictures dont do it justice, you have to see PMS in person to really appreciate it. In the sunlight its even better. I cant justify spending that much money on paint tho but to each their own. Enjoy it!

Even better than the 30 jahre. Love the paint job. This is the baddest M5 the factory can build.

Damn - contrary to some opinions, I think this color is worth it. I doubt these regular pics do it justice, but this is probably as close as you will get to the infamous e46 M3 Chrome Shadow paint which was highly sought after. I'd love to see some pics in different lighting.

While waiting for the detailer to finish sealionbeast's new M5, check out this YouTube video from two years ago of a 750d in Pure Metal Silver. It's inside, under overhead lights, in a showroom -- in Munich, I think.

Hi Seal Lion:
I live in Los Angeles and own a 2014 Silverstone M5. I would love to meet you at your dealer and take photos of our cars side by side so the M5Post members can see the difference. Which dealer did you purchase the car from? When are you free to meet there? Here's a photo of my M5: Last edited by Greer; 12-23-2014 at 12:19 AM.. |
