Great news!!!!!

I am hoping to get my car this week too. Iwas supposed to receive my new car 2 weeks ago, but the dealership received the stop delivery order the morning of my delivery. So for the past 2 weeks I drove every morning by my car, maybe the wait is over.

Dude- take it easy.

Its a car after all. No one is happy with bad pumps. Its just a defective parts. Move on and enjoy the car once its fixed.

Leave to an M3 guy to call out an M5/M6 guy.....good job.

I would have been a little upset as well, but would have taken it in stride, considering BMW has a history of huge mishaps.

My-yet-to-be-delivered M6 will remain at the VDC until mid October according to latest estimates - and a plea by my CA and dealer did not seem to benefit me in any way - still with a rather low priority given the timing. I even tried the "..but I am spending $2500 to go to Lime Rock next week, and would LOVE to drive it there" angle - to no avail. Boo.

We're effectively a 1-car family for now, which is no big deal. But I feel like I've got both wrong ends of the same stick. This will be our 3rd BMW in 6 months (long story), and once the tiny violins stop playing in my head, I am more inclined to consider another manufacturer on the next go-round.

+1. In same boat. I was told today by three different people, including the VPC, that they will not get parts until mid october and I shouldnt expect my car until end of october or first week in november. Just in time to garage it all winter

1 Internet hug to you my friend!

I was considering cajoling my wife into getting one of those hilariously over-the-top and mostly-unnecessary X6Ms - if only to have nearly a dozen hundred HP in our garage - all from the same car maker. Definitely not going to happen now.

Still looking forward to the M6 when it does land!

Wish I could have the "ultimate driving experience".

What amazes me is how BMW NA has kept their dealers out of the loop. I have been giving my SA more info that their own corporate office.

Does anybody else think it odd that only one person is posting that they've gotten their oil pump replaced?

The service manager at my dealership is emailing me everyday and he told me today that he has been advised by BMW Service USA that there have been no new pumps delivered in the U.S. as of yet.

I was also on the phone with BMW NA today and they told me the same thing.

Not saying that Stonehands isn't for real, but I'm wondering if anybody else on this forum has been told that their service department has the new pump in hand and that they are going to get their car back any time soon.

My dealer has been excellent. My CA has done everything in his power and so has the service manager. As of 5pm today my service manager and BMW NA Region Manager didn't even know the parts were being sent out.

In my opinion, there are too many threads going on this issue, but as I posted on a couple of the other ones, my dealer got their first pump and parts this morning and will be installing it in Tom Sellecks car tomorrow. I'm next on their list.

My dealer has my pump in hand. Just need to get my car released from the VDC and I'll be on the road.

Call the VDC directly at have them release your car to the dealer. When I spoke to them today they told me they were not even touching the M5's until they get parts, mid October.

Be patient for a little bit longer. We should be on the road very soon. I spoke to someone today at BMW NA who received a bulletin as we were speaking. There are to date 130 or so replacement parts kits that have been received by dealerships. There are 3xx more kits that are awaiting gaskets to be complete and will then ship. They are hoping to have all VIN accounted for by end of next week. It's a process that they are trying to work thru. Don't know how they are prioritizing it but we are all in the same boat. Good luck to you all. As long as there is progress I'll be patient.
