2013 service at 15K miles

So I had the required service yesterday as I was within 200 miles of the computer stating it was time. The only thing performed was an oil/filter change. I asked specifically if there were any software updates for the ECU/TCU but was told no. Interestingly I also mentioned if the computer would be flashed so that service intervals would now reflect those of the 2014 M5s, i.e. oil/filter change every 10K miles versus the previous recommendation of 15K miles. Again, I was told no and my next service is showing on the car now as needed in another 14K miles after yesterday's service visit.
Anyone had anything different when servicing their 2013? I find it odd that the 2014s are getting serviced every 10K miles but the 13s are still being serviced at 15K miles when the bloody cars are essentially identical.

dealer is simply following bmwna protocol. After all, the dealer don't get paid back if done outside the protocol.

Baron will do oil changes once a year no matter the mileage. Come to think of it I've never been to a dealership that refused an oil changes based on mileage.

I understand where the Service Dept is coming from; I'm just surprised that the protocol for the 2013s hasn't been changed to reflect that of the 2014s since the cars are identical mechanically.

My dealer is very sensitive in doing this scheduled maint as well, they will only allow the work to be done (free of charge to me) +/- 500km or +/- 7days from the in service date. Otherwise, the Service Advisor may start to give me the run around type of story.

I changed mine midway but they wouldn't cover it. They will pay only during regular schedule. But I think both year cars should be the same intervals.

My car is a 2013 M5.

So, I just had my 1200 mile service done at 1003 miles, and it reads that next service is due in 12000 miles. So maybe it depends on the dealer?

I just think that the '13s are still going to use the 15K, (depending on usage), formula versus the updated 10K interval.

It's condition based , not always exactly 15k , can be more or less depending on driving habits etc

Please clarify. Does that mean I've been taking it too aggressive on the car during break in?

How much does this first service (post the 1,200 mile break in service) typically cost in the UK / US?

Thanks

When is the car really due for maintenance? Does it really have to be exact mileage such as 14000 or 15000 miles? I thought that it is either around those mileage or 1 year from delivery whichever comes first.

BMW Toronto told me that the service light has to come on for it to be free? not any earlier, but if I'm a couple km early they will do it for free.

Anyone know what the CBS interval is in terms of months? Can't seem to find that info anywhere.

the service light or cbs will automatically come on when it reaches the preset mileage, in this case, for Canada, it's 20,000km of pre lci and 15,000km for lci. For those who does not drive the equivalent of that in a year, then you can still discuss the scheduled maintenance with the dealer.

The M5 has CBS (condition based service). The intervals slightly vary depending on the way the car is driven.

If yours is sooner than usual or later, it shouldn't be of any concern.
