Check to be sure that you have option "View in Lock Screen" set to ON under "Notifications", "Mail".

Not sure about the new iDrive that the M5s have, but on the now-obsoleted version email delivery is still unreliable. It worked on an early iOS 6 beta and then broke in a later beta and remained broken in the final versions, so I suspect even if you have everything configured correctly, this will be something that Apple will need to fix.

But why on earth would you want to ruin your M5 by turning it into yet another way to be plagued by email?

I do and I have, multiple times.

BMW's compatibility list only shows the Blackberry working for this. Although they also show that SMS doesnt work in my car and it does.

Oh ya, I forgot Betamax is fully integrated as well.

I see your point, but I would rather have something that works and not use it than to not use soemthing becasue it doesnt work.
Make any sense?

Betamax...LOL. Just to confirm you also have Alert Style set to "Banners" or "Alerts", and Notification Center to "on"? Pics of this working in the car...

Yep got them all set:
Bluetooth>Devices>Show Notifications "ON"
Notifications>Messages>Banner; View in Lock Screen "ON"
Mail>Banner>; View in Lock Screen "ON"
Now I am not getting the text messages anymore.

To confirm, what your are showing above with the email example, is that through connected drive with the usb cable or just through bluetooth?

Weird. Do you have Notifications>Messages>Notification Center "ON" and Notifications>Mail>Notification Center "ON"?

Yep, bluetooth only. No connected drive and USB. Just went and checked again. Also try cycling/choosing a different setting for Notifications>Mail>Show.

Ya I have done that as well to no avail.
There was some trick about pairing, setting everything up and re-pairing that I seem to have not been fully striaght on. Can no longer find the thread.

Problem is all video show options that are not part of my software kit.
What version of bluetooth do you have loaded? there is a 022 22 and a 020 22 of whcih I have the latter, but it says that is the most current for my car.

Windows Phone 8 - so far - has the best level of integration. I can even sync contact pictures to iDrive and see them when I dial or receive a call.
With the Windows 8 phone and iPhone5, can you give more details on what level of integration is really working? Office (text and mail using gmail)? What is not working?

- phone book - accessing your contacts and addresses, contact images?
- email display?
- sending emails?
- text display?
- sending texts?
- Calendar / tasks / notes?
- Audio playback via Bluetooth with operation via control display?
- Display of audio title information
- USB connection and operation via control display?
- BMW connected apps?

Thanks
