How do the new ones drive? I tested the old style in 2012 but opted for the sportier ride of the X5.
My wife really prefers the RR... But ultimately I make the final call on anything with a motor!

very well
I really like the RR, its an autobiography so its pretty well kitted up, massaging seats and all that stuff. Drives very well, very smooth, but then you kind of 'waft' along in an RR, never seem to particularly press on it at all, I think it would be frustrating to drive fast, a cayenne/X5 I am sure would be the better driver in that case. Ours is the v6 3.0 engine , had the remap done as well, impressively 1000 miles holiday down and around cornwall /devon etc, and mpg showing at 38.4, pretty good for such a car, 500 kg lighter than the previous model.
You can see why they are so popular, really good luxorious car, I love driving it when I am allowed...a very good foil for my M5 30 Jahre, which has just turned up at the dealer today ( craftily back on topic! ) going to collect that next week |

Personally I wouldn't buy one. To me these cars are not for driving, but for riding in the back and falling asleep. This morning I rode in the back of a Mercedes V-Class and it blows the Range Rover away in terms of the napping experience while being driven around. I slept for a solid hour during my ride in the V-class and arrived refreshed. You can put your legs up and sleep like when you're flying business class. V-class is the ultimate passenger vehicle. Check out the interior of the V-Class Marco Polo edition:

Agree not that good on the back. For that you would probably want the long wheel base with exec seating.
Although the luxury is on a different level. Makes my m5 feel like a shit box after I've been in the range. Would be good for mountain biking from a utility standpoint. If my Missus would let me take it. |

Beautiful truck! My sis bought a Sport and was impressed with the improvements they made over the '06 MY that I had a few years ago.

I presume JohnBMWM5's comment was about the Merc actually not the RR...
RR are holding values pretty well now, the new model is a real step on,8 months waiting list for an autobiog don't agree about the fact they are cars to be driven in, its a great car to drive, just not if you are wanting a fast sporting drive. In face if I could only ever have one car to do everything, I would have to pick the RR as it |

This is a necessity in my experience owning Land Rovers as one will always be broken and in the shop.
Don't get me wrong... I love these cars - great looking, great capability... but until something major changes with their reliability, I can't bring myself to buy them any more.
