2006 325i VS 2007 328i opinion

Hi guys,
glad I found this site since you guys know alot of stuff..
I had a questions for you. I'm looking to buy my first bmw, either a 2006 325i or a 2007 328i. They both look clean and have about the same miles, both auto but the 328i is about 1500 more expensive.. I cant really see much of a difference. Can you please tell me what are the differences between the 06 325i and the 328i sedans.. A mechanic told me that the 2006 were built better than the 2007 .. Please give me your input since I'm going to buy one of the cars this weekend..
Thanks

The 325i has a better transmission (search ZF); 328i has a little more power. Other than that they are identical.

in my personal opinion i would pick the 328i if both are are in exact same condition. since 328i is newer and there is no major problem with the 328 as far as i know. also 30 more hp is also a welcome.

I believe both 2006 325i and 2007 328i both use the same crappy GM transmission. only the 330i or the 335i model use the ZF transmission

There is not a single problem that exists in the 325 that isn't in the 328. 325 uses the same transmission as the 330.

328 has extra 15HP over the 325, not 30 (230 vs 215).

15 hp is not really that noticeable. But hell...15hp is still 15 hp. Some guys here spend $$$ in exhaust and intake mods in hopes of making less marginal gains.

I believe 2007 models will have some other updated software things (but you may have to search to check cuz maybe it is 2008 models...can't remember):

- default warning sound is gong sound instead of ding sound (when you have your lights on, or your seatbelt is not on, or your key is still inserted when you open the door, etc.)
- if equipped with xenons...then if you press key fob...angel eyes fade on.
- white LEDs for licence plate lights.

Get the 328i. Probably hold it's value better.
