It'll be interesting to see how all of this shakes out.

Hamilton and Whitmarsh's body language at Monza was very telling. Lots of tension behind the scenes.

If Hamilton wants to win another Championship, he'd be a fool to leave McLaren--better get his priorities straight.

Either way...good news for Perez it seems.

I didn't even notice they changed the safety car to the new SLS AMG GT.

Quote:
The Mercedes-Benz SLS GT has been announced as the new Formula 1 Safety Car.

The GT is the latest in a long line of AMG safety cars, and takes over from the regular SLS, which has been used to marshal F1 race events since 2010.

Essentially a revised version of the current SLS supercar, the GT puts out 583bhp from its 6.2-litre V8 (up 20bhp) and features a retuned dual-clutch gearbox which gives improved shift times.

The changes knock a tenth of a second off the SLS’s 0-62mph sprint time, which now takes just 3.7 seconds. Its top speed has been limited to 197mph.

New to the SLS GT is AMG Ride Control. It replaces the three-mode system on the current car and is claimed to offer aggressive suspension tuning for improved dynamics.

A production version of the SLS GT will be unveiled at the Paris motor show, before arriving in UK showrooms in November. It is mechanically identical to the Safety Car and has darkened head and tail lamp lenses, as well as a gloss black finish to the fins and grille-mounted Mercedes badge, to visually distance it from the standard SLS.

Inside, the steering wheel receives a coating of Alcantara, while a gloss black finish adorns the dials and sections of the dashboard and centre console.

Jeez, these teams are leaving the announcements till the LAST minute! We still have not heard from Ferrari or Mercedes regarding next year's lineup, either.

Good riddance to LH. Maybe he can afford to buys a few more nose rings now, because he just shat away any hope of a title in the foreseeable.

At least McLaren can get on with it without the diva to contend with.

Wish Lewis the best, but I think it's a terrible decision. Good thing I like Perez! Would've rather Di Resta, but that's probably just me.

Remember that people thought Schumacher moving to Ferrari after winning two championships with Benneton was a bad idea too...

I think in terms of raw driving talent, Hamilton likely is up there with the greats.

Where he lacks is in temperament. I don't think he has the technical prowess or "emotional intelligence" to push a team forward, whether in car development or other matters.

That being said, he's pairing up with Ross Brawn and a team whose technical side is starting to fall into place. It's not the WORST team that he could have chosen to join, that is for sure.

It will be interesting to see how he matches up with Rosberg. I'm not sure he will be able to push him over as easily as some of his past teammates.

And in further silly season news, Bernie could scrap the 2014 engines altogether?

Say bye bye to your career Lewis.

Move on to the next driver. I support a team, not drivers. Next please. Go McLaren!
