Options

I am finalizing a build and wondering what options are a must and what are not so far I have drilled down to : exec, driver assistance , lighting , B&O .

The question is do I need the full leather , do I need the 20s and the competition package . Please feel free to pitch in and add any that I might have missed. Thanks

Why get driver assistance? It's like having the Obama administration's nanny-state in the car with you. Just drive it. Nix that one unless you are a housewife (apologies to all you guys who got that one in advance, haha).

Sound, competition, leather; if you have the coin, check the box! And 20" wheels for sure!

COMPACK IF you can get it. Also if your buying the car get the ceramic brakes but I hear they are not durable.

1. There are no answers, only opinions.
2. Those questions and opinions have been discussed in a multitude of threads. Starting another one is not likely to add any value.

My 2cents is get the car as heavily options as you can comfortably afford. It will def help down the line come time to get rid of it. just my advice.

If you need any assistance or a comparison quote OP I would highly recommend you contact David Aviles if you haven't already. He is from MD bmwdavid@icloud.com

I completely agree.

I also think the competition package with this car is a must. I listened the exhaust of a competition package car vs a base 2013 model and the difference is night and day. Handling is also very different. I wouldn't say 15hp can be felt though, that's most likely for bragging rights

I suggest going to a dealer with multiple cars sit, and sit in as many as possible. Even colors, look in day, night, overcast, and bright sun. I went to at least ten dealerships in Los Angeles before pulling the trigger. Every option has pros and cons, and at the end, you are the one that has to be happy. The last thing you want is buyers remorse. I got SG, XCP, full leather, EXEC, BO, headlights. Always wonder about CCB (maybe for cleaner wheels, but $).
glad that i did not get night vision, doubt I need in Los Angeles much.

I think 20s and full leather are a must.

The way I see it, if I'm paying
over 100k for a car, then the car must be better in every way than a $70 or 80k car and definitely better than a 30-50k car.

Even the 2015 C class has a leather dash. But to make matters clear. I found myself sitting in a KIA Optima EX and saw the leather stitching on the partial leather dash, I realized that I myself would feel suckered if I has accepted a plastic dash in my $118k M5 while the guy in the KIA had something more premium looking.

I'm in the same boat finalizing an order but cant come to terms with packages. It's super annoying the configurator is down on the website.

I have decided to forego the Comp Pack. I'm sure it's great but I'll never track. Can't justify the $7300 esp since one of the only reasons I'm going to order an M5 is it's about the same price as an M4 on a lease. Adding this removes that.

Right now I'm for sure on Exec Pack, Style 343, and Piano Black individual trim. I am going to add either Full leather or Lighting package but I cannot decide. Opinions?

If you have to pick either full leather or LED lights (lighting package) - you should defiantly get full leather.

Skip the drivers assistance package. Waste of money IMO. Wish I had skipped it

I think the LED lights really define the car as the newest generation BMW in terms of aesthetics. On a practical level the LEDs are of minimal improvement. I'm getting the LEDs for sure.

I'm skipping the full leather because I want a silverstone interior and there are parts on the doors and areas near the knees that would get too dirty with the full treatment.

Amen. I can't imagine spending money on that. I would spend money to delete it if it was standard equipment.

LOL! That's funny.

I didn't order it on my Individual M5. Although there have been a couple of times I could have really used the Surround View Cameras for parking. I scraped my front bumper and the DA package would have prevented that. Also the Blind a Spot detection and Speed Limit Info would've been nice from time to time.

My personal preference...

6MT
CP
HUD which now is part of the Executive Package. I wish if I could order it separately like I did in my 2013.

That's it, all I care about is driving, everything else is irrelevant to me.

Agree 100%. I got MCB with Silverstone. There comes a point where its just too much. I know how much work that interior will be, why make it even worse.

But when its clean...Oh baby.

Yeah, get the LED's. that's 50% of the LCI from the exterior.
