If you truly want a special M5, go individual. $10-$15K and you can have a beautiful bespoke car. There is nothing special about the 30 Jahre palette.

I am just enjoying these crazy dealers drop the prices almost weekly. I should offer 90k on the one in NC and see what they say. Im sure they will say they have at least 150 into the purchase and are taking a loss.

They tried to hide the hideous yellow with a matte black wrap, I expect a deeeep discount like Steve Thomas is giving, especially in MN.

are the mirror caps, steering wheel, exhaust, carbon fiber, "1 of 1" imprinted inside the car worth the 40k premium? will it hold its value? will it be worth gt3 money down the road?

Didn't think so. but thank you for laying out these special options.

What the hell are you smoking? I think all these special editions are stupid, no point in paying a premium for livery or stickers or badges, but that's bullshit about all that adding up to a 40k premium.

A regular fully-loaded M6 coupe has a sticker of $146k. Add in the exhaust, more carbon fiber goodies, and a few other little things here and there... You end up spending about $155k-$160k.

Or you can buy a competition edition that's listed for $156k such as in Arlington. I bet they'd take $150k.

Have a good day.
I think both of you guys have some very valuable points! I mean,...my '13 M5 is a special car to me,....even though I paid around $60K,...I still consider it to be a $100k+ car,..and in my book, anything that outside of the house and is subject to all types of use, weather, etc.,...has to be "special"! The fact, is, because the auto industry is undergoing a "Moore's Law of Evolution",...that is, ditching of petro engines and moving towards renewal energy chassis. My guess, in 10 years time,...and certainly not too far down the road from that,...everyone that paid crazy entry prices on any automobile will be stunned to their knees upon trying to sell, etc. Case in point,...take a regular F10 M5,...if there is such a thing,...a car that sold new for some $105k,..to $120k or so,...and within some 3-4 years are less than half the selling price value. But yet any well maintained car like an E30 M3 can command some 2 times+ its original selling price. Yeah,..I know it's not the same,..i.e., the rarity of the E30 vs the multitude of F10 M5s. But my point is,...just because it costs a lot today won't mean it will be valuable to anyone tomorrow.

I guess the only resolve we have is that our M5s are relatively well built,..have lots of style and class,....and are definitely fast as hell by any measure! I'll take it over anything on the road,...which is why I have one - it represents THE ULTIMATE BMW DRIVING MACHINE to me!

That was my whole point to mention these numbers by posting the screen shot
The MPE and M performance steering wheel plus those CF pieces cost around 20K ...

Again, my point is not to say this car worth 160+K. I clearly mentioned at that price point I will go for something special like GT3 or 570s. I was making the point that the car COSTS 160+k with the rated prices on BMW website !!! Well the car business stuff is a different story for people are in that business

In full agreement here! I feel bad for those that buy these cars new! Well,...not actually. I know they have a big old crap-eating grin on their face when they drive off the lot with that brand spanking new M5,...but then 2-3 years later,...bet yet,....25-35k miles later,...they get hit with a hard dose reality!

When I let the stealer with mine,...my grin was just a big as the new car buyer,...because again,...I got a $100k+ car for $60k, etc.

Lease, mod, part out and then do it again ....... Although there's a depreciation component in the lease payment it's predetermined and car's under warranty.
