Hey guys waiting to get my wheels sorted out and need to get the car lowered. I was set on the KW HAS kit, but while looking around I found the Megan Racing Coilover kit. Same concept as the HAS kit, just haven't seen too many guys that have it. Any feedback on the kit anyone may have is greatly appreciated! Happy and Safe New Years everyone!

I would AVOID THIS KIT like the plague.

Like you I thought this would be a good kit judging from the video review and I got a special price through my boy for the full kit so it seemed like a no brainer. Big mistake.

I bought it back in September. The day of the install my mechanic was also installing a KW sleeve on a M6 GC. After install the car came out HIGHER. After maxing out the suspension the rear would go low but the fronts just do not go low enough. MAXED OUT FRONT HAD 2.5 FINGER GAP. My mechanic said let it settle, so I drove one month and it did not settle for shit. The car handled like a boat and the car looked goofy. We then reached out to megan and sent all sorts of measurements, pictures, redid the install of the fronts twice.....even bent some suspension piece Megan told us to try and NOTHING changed. Car was high as shit. Not sure how that guy in the video had his go down so low.

I finally took this garbage off and bought HR springs which are OKAY. Do not buy these either they bottom out often and are bouncy as shit. I am a young guy i don't mind but I know for a fact most people will not appreciate nor like this type or ride esp for a car like this.

After installing, removing, then reinstall of HR I WISH I did KW sleeve from the start. This is one of those lessons where you get what you pay for and i literally threw away a lot of money on this megan kit. Megan will also not take the kit back so its sitting in my basement.

Just avoid this kit. For 300 more you can get KW sleeve or look into VOGTLAND springs. I do not suggest HR springs either. Its a shame the M5 come higher than the sport package F10 so we have to lower no matter otherwise it look funny. Just do not buy this kit and suffer like me :C

Megan kits are generally on the budget/lower quality side across many platforms.

Megan sucks but SWIFT is a well known respected brand and many E9X M3 are running their springs and rave about them.

I am all about saving money but these past few instances made me realize trying to save $200-$400 is nothing you will just SPEND MORE in the long run. Money aside.... the amount of time wasted trying to resolve/remedy these issues is worse as time is limited.

The video they mentioned the swift springs which I know a lot of guys run them on their bmws that's why I was thinking they stepped up their product. But by the sounds of it I'll just go KW. Especially since I'm paying a shop to do the install. I normally do my own wrenching but for some reason I just don't feel like doing these. So I don't want to
Pay twice for the job.

Thanks again guys!

Go with KW HAS; I’ve had this on my car for about two years without any issues. Ride quality is great and the ability to adjust ride height will allow you to really dial in the stance.

I remember Megan Racing back in my G35/350Z days. They're relatively cheap and are more form over function (mostly used for "stanced" cars).

Not sure why Swift decided to collaborate with Megan Racing, since Swift is pretty well-respected (definitely function over form).

I have installed this kit (or should say attempted to) and overall it is not a good kit. The swift springs actually are not bad but the issue is that Megan did not clearance the parts correctly and to actually get the threaded sleeve to seat in the correct position requires a lot of work..
They say to use a press and we were compressing the 2x4 so much so while trying to get it that backed off. As the previous person mentioned they say try to state that "the sticker on the strut is preventing it from seating correctly" and send a bunch of pictures over.
With the amount of force being applied by our press it would have pealed the sticker away if this was the case.. They insisted and sent many measurements.. I don't know how they even got the set to seat on the car they took pictures from.

Really the only way you would get it to work as designed is by removing material from the shock body applying lots of lubricant and maybe say a prayer that it works without causing any damage to anything.
If the previous posts were not enough to convince you (anyone interested, not speaking just to OP) I hope this has.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS KIT

Extremely, extremely happy with my KW HAS. I wanted an aggressive, sporty stance, not slammed and functional and the KW HAS has achieved that for me. I think you saw my review and pics of the install in the suspension thread.

Stick with brands and experience with suspension

No Ohlins or Bilstein for the M5 so its KW or H&R for springs and Dinan or KW for kits. The best without doubt is the KW V3

KW V3 AND HAS are both great options.

Not that anyone needs anymore convincing but I forgot to mention that Megan was never very polite on the phone or willing to help.
We contacted them to let them know we were not sure they had the correct spring rate or height for the front of the vehicle since it still felt a little soft when running sport plus and was very boaty in comfort *more than factory* as well as the fact that the rear had the ability to go about an inch lower than the front (and in comparison to KW HAS with both maxed was about 3/4" higher.
I let them know we would be willing to test a different spring set or would be interested in ordering some others that were stiffer and shorter to test some options. we were told it was not possible.

we called swift to ask them and they were great and let us know they would be happy to get us whatever we needed..
No idea why they partnered with Megan..

In the end the car ended up with KW HAS anyway.

Sorry to revive an old thread. Did anyone have the same experience where the car was higher or would go that low? I have purchased this kit for my f90 and I’m afraid the drop is not going to be ideal. Can anyone else chime in
