Eisenmann exhaust - race or sport?

I have a 650xi GC - not much traffic or modding going on in that forum, so I thought I would ask here. How much louder than the stock system are the Sport vs. the race version of Eisenmann? I am worried that the sport version will barely be a noticeable increase in sound over the stock system, and I am also worried that the race will be too loud and/or drone at highway speeds. But dear lord the Eisenmann race sounds so nice!

Can people please chip in with any experience they have? Thanks in advance!

I have the the eisenhman race exhaust with center pipes an msr intakes feel free to take a look at any of the videos posted by jairomvp. There shud be a thread titled mbeast. I went full race an I am completely happy with it . It does drone though but with the windows up on highway speeds with the radio on you can't really here it that bad. Cold start will rattle your house I can send you videos personally if you would like as well just send me a pm

If you click the link to my sales thread, there is a video of both kits taking off from a dead stop, so you can have a good idea of what they both sound like. If you are interested in a system, I am currently blowing them out at $1000 below retail. PM me for info.

Thanks for your input - Ive heard videos before - what I cant get from videos is how loud they sound in person. And I live in the middle of no where so trying to hear one in person is a lost cause. Unfortunately, none of the vendors have any decibel data. But your comments about the race version shaking windows and drone are probably what I needed to know. I spend a lot of time on the highway, and with the 8 speed in the 650 it cruises at 80mph at 1800 rpm's, which is reportedly where the worst of the drone is.

If your doing a lot of highway miles the drone will be negligible. If your ever in the area an want to hear it in person Lmk. I was thinking sport since I didn't want to be harassed by cops. I went with race an I am glad I did! Hope that helps!

Thanks for the offer! I may be up that way a couple times this fall and will definitely let you know when! I would LOVE to hear the race in person to know how loud it really is. My heart says race but my head says sport.

I would err on the side of being too quiet, since droning is a concern. Whenever you slow to a stop, in a parking lot, etc and are in that headache causing 1800 rpm range, there will be regrets. It's a hassle, at least for me, to sell an exhaust system and switch up, been there done that. My time is valuable.

yeah, that 1800 rpm drone zone scares me, as thats where the tach sits when Im cruising at 80 mph. Would be less of a concern if it cruised at 2200 rpm, but the 8th gear in the 650 is geared really low.

i agree with Bostons_Finest, the drone part is there but is not bad at all, i asked him if it was my imagination or it was actual drove, because it want that pronounced, inside the car is not loud but perfect exhaust note, out side its definitely loud and beasty, if you live in a quiet zone its something to consider because the car is loud, i can hear the growwwwww from far

This is my current dilemma as well. I'm deciding on two setups right now:

AMS catted, non-resonated Eisenmann mids, Eisenmann Sport

or

AMS catted, stock mids, Eisenmann race

1st world problem yes, but it's these little decisions that take forever to figure out.

reviving this thread. I just put an order on e race and am keeping the mid pipe stock and likely gutting the stock cats. wondering if I should change up the e race to sport since A. too much drone and keeping it classy and B. I am buying a 991.1 GT3 and I will do a sharkwerks exhaust on that to make it loud as fuck. Maybe keep the M5 a bit more classy?? thoughts?

ERace if your "not" doing anything else. ESport if your changing downs. That's all to keep things classy like your referring to. Otherwise it will get real fucking loud! Still sweet but that's kinda what your alluding to.

Go with the E sport.

I had the E race and removed it. The drone was terrible on the hwy. Or get the Akra. No drone and sounds exotic up high.
