Impressive.

Not liking the AFR from 4 to 4.5rpm (up to 12.8?) I guess that's where the turbos kick in fully and making max torque.

I guess you mapped it for 12.2 ARF? Is that not a bit lean with over 30psi and kicking out that sort of power on pump fuel? I always go for 11.5-11.8AFR. Might lose a bit of power but like being on the safe side.

that aside crazy car / power

Well Spec R clutch doesn’t hold the power so we are going for the Spec Z.... stay tuned!

ah, forgot you run meth. Tricky to map / feed in initially I guess.

And they're 35R turbos right? cause thats 1100+ all day when you are able to turn it up.

I don't think most have experiences with being first and having to modulate power. Since you're kinda exploring on your own at this point.

Update:

Spec Z (20-plate clutch) should be here next week, so will install that once its arrived. Getting an assembled housing from Kris @ SSP so I don't have to deal with which clip goes where ?!?

CSF/Pure IC's have arrived, so will install that tonight when I get home. It's a pretty easy swap.

For the curious:

Spec R - 16
Spec X - 18
Spec Z - 20

Next is some sort of exhaust - likely do cutouts which are cheap and effective. I hate loud droning exhausts which most M5 exhausts are.

For the curious:

Spec R - 16
Spec X - 18
Spec Z - 20
Awesome! Can't wait to see spec z! You going to add additional cooling as well?

Ordered my IC last week, waiting for them to come in.

No doing any additional clutch cooling as I won’t be doing any sustained racing other than 1/4 and 1/2.
Can't wait to see what you find on some logs. Living in south florida i have been waiting for so long for someone to come out with IC upgrades for our cars. Once tuned, these cars get heat soak so easily.

Well the logs can’t be compared to stock housing turbos as these Garrett’s are well within their efficiency range and seems to run cooler than the previous turbos I have run.

Either case can get some relative measurements.

The flash is a very solid backend flash from DMETuning and I had requested a few tweaks from Kevin @ Labworx for the dyno. Rest of it I tuned via the JB4 interface. The boost control and fueling affect the power curve - you want to make sure the DME stays within its 'known good range' so that the car doesn't freak out.

That's why I spent nearly a month tuning on the street to make sure things were in order.

Got lots of feedback & support from Terry @ BMS and Jesse @ Pure during the process to converge on something.

Rest is to try various things and see what works the best!

The big key in this system is that everything is integrated. JB4 controls boost, and feedback to the DME. In some ways the JB4 is the master and the DME is the slave from a control system perspective. Within the DME operating range it has its own master->slave configuration with the other control units.

Looks nice I assume those CSF ICs were pretty straight forward installs. Mine are coming after powdercoating....

Edit: Btw, looks like you're feeding the meth through the charge pipes still? I thought the CSF ICs come with meth ports?

Ram,

What intakes are you running? It looks like BMS with K&N filters?

They started off as BMS intake piping... the shape/length had to change and incorporated very large K&N's (bigger than the BMS intake).

I ran some sims on filter surface area... stock box -> BMS -> etc... and this is the size I came up with.

IC's fit fine... its tight. On the pass side you have to remove the oil-feed nozzle to get it in (don't have to do that with the stock IC's).

Takes an hour tops.

1. Loosen charge pipes - if aftermarket slide the front couplers all the way back onto the charge pipe. If OEM need to remove them
2. Remove the 4 charge coolant hoses at the IC's. Pull clip (not all the way off.. just pull out) and yank on the hoses. Remove charge expansion tank cap to help drain fluid
3. Remove whatever intake you have (to gain access). If you have stock boxes they have to come off completely
4. Remove the two overflow connectors on the top of the IC's
5. Unplug the TMAP sensor harness
6. Loosen the hose clamp holding IC to the intake manifold
7. Remove the IC clamp bolt (torx) at the mounting bracket (near alternator... one for each side)
8. Unplug the Emissions valve (hose coming from intake manifold) and its mounted with a bracket onto the IC on each side... just unscrew the bracket nothing else
9. Pull IC toward you (front of the car) while yanking up. Can wiggle it out... once it comes off, need to unplug the throttle body harness connector (each side)
10. Swap throttle bodies (change gaskets if you need) - use M6 x 1.0 45mm bolts (can't re-use the OEM ones)
11. Install is the reverse process. On pass side need to remove the oil-feed cap and nozzle completely (two torx bolts... easy). Given the upgraded IC's are bigger, its easier if charge pipes are removed
12. Tighten everything... double check... fill coolant/water into the charge cooling expansion tank.
13. Start car... check for leaks etc. Once warmed up, double-check the charge cooling expansion tank and add more fluid as needed!
14. Done!

Just be careful not to drop anything into the exposed intake manifold opening... NOT GOOD. Engine has to come off to fix that problem!

Well, I've been keeping my eyes open around town... and yesterday I finally got to witness this beast in person. All I can say is that the ground pretty much rumbles as it pulls away - you can FEEL the power from 200 feet away. And it sounds f*cking amazing. Damn.

Nice to meet you Ram. Look on your face was priceless when I pulled up next to you in my minivan and said, "You're allmotor_2000 right?" You're like WTF??? lol...
