2014 bmw m5 lease

Hi guys!

I was shopping for a new lease. It's between m5, mb e63 and Porsche panemera turbo.

I usually buy cars and I don't lease them. My wife and I started our business. I fully understand benefits of leasing ( I am CPA ) but I would like to get your opinion on the lease deal that I got.i will also make a post where I will compare the cars above in detail.

Bmw m5 msrp 116,850
Black on black
Comp pack, executive , led pack
Discount $7,000
36 month 10k miles per year
Tier one credit (above 680 on equifax is tier one according to bmw financial )
$8,500 down this includes title, tax etc
1st month pmt $1,350 ( plus down pmt)
$1,350 per month total

I believe that residual is 52 or 58 I got to check

sale tax $6520.31
license $64.25
title $33.00
st inspect $23.75
doc fee $146.00
st vit tax $206.72
Acq fee $800

1. Some members are saying that there is multiple security discount, how do you get it ?

2. How is this deal sound ?

Any feedback is very appreciated

Thanks

In term of lease, you are paying monthly rent fee which is calculated based on Money Factor, Residual value and Sales price.
Multiple Security Deposit (MSD) is the amount you can put down as deposit (will be returned at the end od lease) to reduce the Money Factor (MF). For each security deposit (which is almost equal to your monthly payment) your MF reduces for 0.00007. Up to 7MSDs you can put for maximum 0.00049 MF reduction. BTW, what is the Residual and MF on this deal?

This is my first lease so I really appreciate the help.

My sales guy said that they just use tier one credit. 680 or above.
I don't know money factor.
Residual is 52 or 58 as far as I remember.

I will check all the details on Monday and post them.

Base Money Factor right now is .00130 and residual on 10k is 61%.

So residual it's different depending on money down?

Can you just put max amount of msd and just paid for reg and fees ?

How do you usually do lease on m5 ? Just from past experiences

Thanks

Are you sure about 0.0013 and 61% for 10K?
If this is true then for 116850 MSRP and 109850 sales Price, if you pay all tax and fees upfront, the monthly payment must be around $1300 !!!! I believe the Residual and MF offered to him are something else

Edit: miscalculation at the first place

This is the way you have to calculate your monthly payment:
If you pay all tax and fees upfront...

MP: Monthly payment
RV: Residual Value = RV% x MSRP
MF: Money factor
SP: Sales Price

MP = (SP - RV) /36 + MF x ( SP + RV)

Ok great.

I will email my sales guy and post the values.

But if you go to bmw usa and configure a car.

If price is $116,000 car would be around $1350 per month with 11k down.

It's bellow the configuration lease estimated payment

I found the add from bmw dealer
36 months
10 k per year
Msrp 110,0625
First payment $1,006
Tag
Waste fee
Acquisition fee $925
Dealer fee $699
10 per cent down $11,062

Monthly payment is $1,007

How about this?

Sorry I did miscalculate at my first post. now it's corrected
I think this deal (1007) is a good deal if 11k down includes all tax and fees

Here is an reply from the dealer.

What do you guys think ?

The money factor on the lease is .00170 or as a interest rate 4.08 set by BMW Financial
The interest rate on the Owners Choice is 4.0 set by BMW
The residuals are
10k 61%
12k 60%
15k 58%
Yes we take multiple dpsts up to 7 and the Money Factor then would be
.00121

Deposits rounded up $50 example : if pymt is $1351 security dpst would be
$1400 x 7= $9800 in sec dpst

It appears your dealer is trying to mark-up the BMW Financial Services lease program money factor. If this is correct, this puts more money in the dealer's pocket so you're not getting as good of a deal as he's telling you by knocking $7k off the price.

The current buy rate set by BMWFS for tier one customers is .0013. Some dealers pass on this buy rate to their customers, some markup the buy rate. The maximum markup allowed by BMWFS is .0004. So your dealer is setting your money factor rate at the max allowed by BMWFS. This will cost you a couple thousand bucks more over the life of the lease vs. a dealer setting your money factor at .0013. So you need to factor this into the deal.

I would refer you to my BMW sales guy here in California, however he doesn't sell out of state. I think I recall that David at Steve Thomas BMW does out of state deals routinely, and he has a very good reputation with board members here, why not see what he can offer you?

I can talk to him no problem.

I did not start to negotiate the rest with current dealer I am just asking what's he willing to give me.

Is the money factor based on your credit score or just at the discretion of the dealer ?

Also if this is accurate dealer told me this deal is equivalent to 4.05 apr but purchase on new m5 apr has a promotion of 3.19 according to bmw usa.....

I also rant into a dealer who quoted MF as .0017. You need to insist they use .0013 or move on. No need to start off on the wrong foot.

Multiply the money factor by 2400 to convert to APR. You almost always pay more for a lease. If you're using this as your business vehicle I assume you understand the benefit of leasing vs. purchasing. If you purchase you are subject to the 280F luxury auto limits.

Got it,

That's why I was saying 0.0013 times 2400 is 3.12

The promo that they are running is 3.19 apr but dealer is giving me 4.08

Sorry, I guess I was a little unclear. I wanted to point out to the OP that based on the information you provided about the current BMW FS lease program, his dealer appears to be marking up the money factor on him.
