My dealer told me they wouldn't have allocations until july when production starts. Then who knows how many there actually gonna get, this sucks.

I've been ready to order for a long time and (i think) very patient with the heightened expectations that BMW is creating. But I'm losing interest in the process....too much hype and too much waiting. It shouldn't really be this hard to spend $100k on a car. Unless you're tee'd up as #1 or #2 in your dealer queue you're likely to take delivery just as the snow starts to fall. It sounds like a great car but the process seems a little mismanaged by Germany. I'm now considering alternatives options now..the last thing I want is a beautiful new luxury sled delivered just as the weather starts to suffer.

Ok, thank you hopefully this gives Bmw time to plan a good amount of allocations to dealerships. Knowing how many orders are in the order bank.

Congrats!

You can get Imola Red? Wasn'r aware it was possible.

A thought - I personally found the BMW Apps quick useful, and it is only $250. Has a few very nice features, most notably the Web Radio (you can listen live to just about any radio station in the world for free).

Also, worth ticking the Sat radio option IMO as it is free, so why not enjoy Sirius for a yr on their buck.

My last two M5's have arrived in November and I live in Minnesota. Both times I had snow tires waiting at the dealer. Somehow the break in seems to be less painful doing it in the winter.

I'm first on the list at mega dealer. Saturday I sat in the GM’s office and we made my order. The screen I saw confirmed only one F10 M5 order has been accepted, from Honolulu. My deal said he had never seen that special order status, something like 101 but don't quote me on that. Interestingly it is not even that well equipped but it does have a “undisclosed" custom interior and exterior.

As for my order it tips the scale at $116,475:
MCB
Full Black Mreino
Piano Black
Driver Assist
Executive package
B&O
20" wheels
And...... Yes I did the CC brakes.

Thoughts?

Finally the screen I saw said July allocations would be announced May 24 th.

Imola Red is not listed in the 2013 M5 Ordering Guide. How to you order this color? Is there a special code that you have to indicate or does one just inform BMW Sales?

Imola Red is not officially listed in the color guide but can be had as an individual color/order.

I believe that the BMW Apps and one year satellite subscription is included in the exec package.

Thanks for the comments!

Just talk to your advisor and let them do the work. I don't know the code but can ask.

Love this build. I have no personal experience with ceramic brakes so if you don't mind me asking what was your reasoning?
Also, where did you hear that allocations will be released on the 24th? Is that in official communiqué from BMW?

I notice a lot of guys here with Piano Black trim as their choice. Having had piano black trim for about 2 1/2 years just some FYI, It really attracts dust which is not a big deal but is also very prone to scratches and shows any little contact or smudge, so be warned. I would not do it again especially at $1800 as it was free option in my M.

It attracts dust because the Piano black finish is probably a good electircal insulator and as such can accumulate static charges that attact particles of dust. The surface may even become highly charged when it comes in contact with another material as in the case of trying to wipe it clean with a cloth. The solution for such surfaces is to spray the surface with anti-static agents. There are some furniture sprays that have anti-static agents. One I can think off is marketed by Johnson Wax.

+1, I have the piano black on my RS4 and can confirm exactly the same as far as the dust and swirl mark issue. I may have been tempted to add it if it were a no cost option and be even more careful with it this time around, but for added expense I'll likely pass. Prefer to spend the funds on the Carbon Fiber interior offered through either the BMW Performance Line, or there are several good aftermarket solutions.

Thx, I will look into it.

Just hang in there, not sure if you ever followed what ordering was like for the (740 in total) 1///Ms made available in the US, but it was 100 times worse than this. In due course all will become clear and the wheels will be greased well enough that the ordering process will move swiftly.

Here's another spray I found on the web. Anyway, if you test, please give us some feedback and your impressions
