Exclamation UPDATE: U.S. M5 certification complete. Deliveries probable this week.

We're here at the 2013 M5 & M6 press drives at Laguna Seca and I've just spoken to BMW NA on the M5 deliveries matter.

Final CARB certificate was issued today and the 2013 M5s are now clear to ship to dealers. They can start shipping to dealers immediately and the first deliveries probable by the end of the week.

There is no hold until 9/1 (to coincide with the first date of european deliveries). The hold up has been due to certification.

Congrats to our soon to be owners!!

Not to stir the pot, but there is evidence of any EPA/CARB certification being completed weeks ago. In any case, I'll be a believer once I hear that my vehicle is no longer awaiting a shipping vessel.

Does the sticker show the EPA fuel economy numbers (city/hwy/combined)?

Yes, the holding was not due to the EPA or CARB. We are smart enough to figure this out. I am hoping all of us write a letter to BMW to express our displeasure. This should not happen again. Here is the mailing address. BMW Noth America gave me this information

What is it that you are exactly still upset about? That it took a couple of extra weeks for us to get our cars? Or that the dealers were left in the dark about when delivery would be?

Nonetheless, this is all kinda moot now. Take delivery of your car man, enjoy it, this is not that big a deal.
