Front seat variants
I'm looking at the Interior Photos thread trying to figure out how many front seat versions there are. The only ones I can find seem to be the standard Sport seats and then the M Multi-function seats with ventilation. The visual giveaways of the latter are the vastly different headrest design (the M Multi-function seats have a sort of two-layer headrest design), the lower back and seat area being longitudinally striped rather than plain, and of course perforation for the ventilation. The multi-function seats also just look bigger and more comfy, especially in terms of side bolstering.
The US order guide indicates that M Multi-function seats are standard here, but I'm wondering what they will look like WITHOUT the ventilation option. Will they be the same shape but lose the vertical striping and perforation? Will they lose only the unnecessary perforation but retain the vertical striping, which I quite like? Or will they remain striped and perforated even though the perforation would be purely aesthetic at that point? Has anyone in other markets ordered the M Multi-function seats but skipped ventilation? The reason I ask is that I actually want to avoid the Executive Package because I don't care about most of the options and some I actively want to avoid -- like soft-close doors which are apparently hideously expensive when the motor fails, and to some extent seat ventilation because I've heard it doesn't work very well and the holes make detailing and generally upkeep harder. I'd get HUD, Comfort Access, and maybe BMW Apps separately (I have Apps now and barely use it). If the multi-function seats were only available with the Executive Package I'd probably spring for it, but that seems not to be the case. However, if anyone has the multi-function seats without ventilation I'd love to see what you got. Thanks!

AWESOME, thanks!! That's exactly what I was hoping for, the nicer seat WITH the vertical striping and without the perforation.

Quick question: Is that Silverstone or Platinum above? It's hard to tell these two apart in the various pics floating around....

So all US seats look like this, with the vertical stitching? (OK if ventilated they will be perforated.)

Seems that way based on the ordering guide, but we won't know for sure until they hit the US. The few models currently here aren't final production versions. The one I saw had a configuration that won't be possible based on the US ordering options, i.e. most of the Exec and all of the Driver Assist pkg, but the base Sport seats even though the US standard is M Multi-function.
