From what I can tell, Franz was a great asset to Manhart. Let's hope both he and MHR is successfull on their own as well

It seems Manhart has turned their focus to the M6 now, as in the MH6 S Biturbo. Curious if they are going to do more with it than the M5. The early teaser states over 740hp which seems possible but must be hard on the trans. Anyways a stage I tune would be nice, something to bring the motor up to speed with the added DPs, exhaust and intake.

I hope that the M6 becomes a focus for many tuners. I just ordered my 2014 today :-)

Cold list you are going to love it at least most of the time. It is like dating and amazing woman, you have to work for it, and at times it's frustrating but boy is it a great machine. Only issue I am having is front steering shake at 85-95

Yes, I know I will love it! I have a 2013 F10 M5 myself and I recently bought an F12 convertible for my wife and just fell in love with the characteristics of the car. I then went out and took a 2014 F13 coupe home from my dealer for a night and I have to tell you, the steering in the 2014 is MUCH more in tune with the road than the 2013 cars. I ordered the competition pkg, which reportedly will have an even more responsive servotronic steering. I cannot wait to get this car. I too believe, as you have said, it is a great machine.

Mike you are making me jealous. Might have to swap out bushings and roll bar from the 2014 (which is what is changed other than software) because I leased mine and have way too much added to it for now. My only comfort is knowing in two years I can always get another one and I have a B7x for a daily driver. Keep me posted when you get it.

Thats interesting to hear Mike, after driving my wife's Rover and back into my F12 the steering feels a little dull to me. This is my first M6 so I assumed they set them up that way intentionally, but from what you said I guess not. I'm with Noushy though, Ive got too much money in mods coming down the pipe already for a leased car so I think Ill deal with the steering until the next one lol!

Since then we made some more software modifications and let the ecu adapt itself. I am pretty sure that the car gained another 25 RW HP, and in due course I will dyno the car again.

Manhart opened up their box of tricks to get this done. The fuel pumps can’t actually supply enough fuel to my powerful engine, but MHR solved that. Impressive! The car pulls like crazy and during tests on the highway it pulls harder than a Ferrari 458 Italia and F430. On a side note I was with 3 passengers in the car. Fuel consumption has improved during cruise speeds of 70 mph to about 8.5 litres per 100km. Average consumption including hard test driving is around 14 litres per 100km. Well impressed for such a powerful car. This car is not about having some peak power, it is strong throughout the rev band.

I realize that the car has more torque than we all here thought possible with regards to the gearbox and the diff. However, I have seen how MHR “mistreat” their demo car over the past few months, and I am fully confident that it will hold. Franz even took their MH5 S on the track last weekend at the Spring Event which I also attended, without having a single issue with it, except some smoking brakes  Since we are still at early stages in tuning the M5, I am sure there is more to come, including turbo upgrades, gearbox and dif reinforcements. The top speed is currently restricted (through BMW M drivers package) at 318 km/h on the speedo, but once lifted it will do over 345 speedo km/h.

I am proud to say that with my car so far MHR produced the most powerful F10 M5 in the world at this moment, even more powerful than their own. I haven’t done any v-box runs yet, but MHR v-box tested the car from 100-200 km/h on the Autobahn in the wet at 6.5 seconds. Their own demo does 6.3 on a dry Autobahn. When running against the MHR demo from 120 km/h upwards, my car was faster with three passengers than the MHR demo with just the driver. Crazy stuff.
Very impressive

These are taken at Gustav's GT Board events in Sweden.

Not quite sure how you get an invitation. The events doesn't seem to be advertised and some are open to the public, others are not...

Are you removing all of the Manhart stuff then? Or just a new software?

Do you know if this still is based on the Noelle/press tune software or if it's PP's own software?

I know that AC Schnitzer also managed to remove the speed limiter, only to discover a second speed limiter in the transmission at 320km/h...

Manhart is not developing their software any further and PPP can offer me more power, front cat delete without cell and remove the limiter.

Wow..keep us posted on your experience! I for one appreciate the information you share. Just last night I was admiring your car (both looks and performance).

Got back from PP Performance Germany. First we put my Manhart Racing MH5S on the MAHA dyno to see if the power is really there. Well it was less than what they said, so not as much as when they dynoed the car on their Dynojet. I guess the Maha is the only dyno giving true figures.

The car made 706.3 bhp at the crank. Then we took out the Manhart parts, went catless downpipes and installed PP Performance parts and remapped the ecu's again. Car now makes 790.5 bhp at the crank and feels a lot more powerful. So far no cell at all. The 155 mph limiter is gone.

I wanted to test if I could go over 190 mph, but traffic didn't allow me more than 180 mph. I don't have official proof yet that the old M Drivers pack limiter is gone (although BMW said it is, since it was downgraded to 155 mph). But 200 mph is a serious speed and I don't want to jeopardise my or anyone elses life.

Conclusion: PP Performance created one serious M5 with loads of power, no cell and most likely no speed limiter.

Thanks for sharing! What were the whp results? Maha dynos read lower than a Dynojet so it isn't so much a "true" figure as it is a different one.

Tom,

The car made more than 600 RWHP, but I am going to leave it at that. Somehow I always end up in dyno discussion with other people (not with you though).

This post is about my car getting more bhp through PP Performance (791 crank compared to Manhart 706), and that it looks like the limiter is off. But in time I will check this. I need to go to Germany for that, so it may take a while.

We would love to see the actual MAHA graphs to see the nature of the curves as well. The MAHA is probably the most advanced and accurate dyno available today. It can actually measure drivetrain loss and give you real crank hp results . I'd be interested to see what you're drivetrain loss was , previous MAHA's Ive seen have the M5 at 19%. You hit the nail on the head that what was important was the PP tune and hardware made 80+ more hp on the same dyno same day! Thanks again for your posts!
