Yes, I have been reading, some of the topics are around M3/M4 tunes up. Either way, I think I'll wait before considering the tuning stuff. In the interim, I'll maintain the factory vehicle with Vorsteiner lip kits and diff-user.

Still deciding between the Vorsteiner VSE-003 wheels and PUR ORIGIN SERIES - 2WO wheels...decisions decisions, lol

Vehicle's Ordered! :)

So, got the good news today from my sales person:

The vehicle's been ordered and should be here for March or April 2016.

Can't wait....so excited ....

1. Going to get this dash camera installed: BlackVue DR750LW-2CH
2. Getting these floor mats and trunk mats - http://www.weathertech.ca/en/bmw/201...er-digitalfit/ - BMW 2016 M5 (F10) FloorLiner™ DigitalFit® - Laser Measured

Alone these two items gonna cost me ~$1000.00 ...

Got the Call :)

Hi Everyone,

Got the call, that my M5 is officially in Canada from Germany, it should be at the dealership within the next week or so.

So excited ....

I am going to hold back until the Canadian Winter weather officially comes to end by 3rd week of March.

Going to start ordering the accessories.

Will post pictures soon.

More Questions ....

Hi Everyone!

Since I'll be getting my M5 in mid/end March or beginning April, I wanted to get the following items *done* as quickly as possible.

1. Enable Auto Fold Mirror (when vehicle is locked / unlocked using the remote) - folded mirror when locked, and when unlocked, unfolded.

2. DVD Motion (ability to watch DVD when the vehicle is in motion)

3. Use USB stick to watch AVI / MP4 Movie Files - is USB 3.0 (64 GB+) sticks supported?

4. Disable "Daylight Running Lights", I know it's a law in Ontario, but I just hate it. Honestly ...

I was reading all these can be done via "coding", which I am new to, and I don't want to get my brand new F10 M5 2016 screwed-up. Can someone please let me know where in Toronto I can go to get these features done? I also read that there are people on this forum who can help out, and I would just need to get a cable and a laptop with internet access?

Thanks.

I don't know how it is on the new F10 LED light system in Canada, but I believe in the old lighting system, it would have been the yellowish light. I never seen an angel light by itself during the DRL.

I have to see how it is. I just wanted to know from a "coding perspective" if there is a way to turn it off.

Does the new LED Lighting system even have the angel eye's lighting system?

No yellow lights.

The daytime running lights are the nice LED rings.

I would not turn those off, both for safety and because they look awesome!

PM Me for a nice coder's contact for all of the above and way more and will be done over the phone
He did it for me a few weeks ago and working with him was a breeze

HUD is a must have in M5 no doubt

Straight from: BMW PLANT DINGOLFING (planning to go there for a guided tour). You truly appreciate the vehicle once you learn every step of the manufacturing journey.

Thanks everyone ...

Does anyone have a picture of what the master key looks like for F10 2016 M5? Is it the same design as X5 keys (with a shape like a arrow at the top?)

I believe it is still the "old style" key. Not the new shape, which also has the M Tri-Color on the edge. Looks great on the X5 key I have seen in the past. But I don't believe the M5 has this key.

The "M" Key ...

So, I had a chance to swing my the dealership for some additional paper work.

I finally saw the key that I got. Is the first image below (standard one).

The second picture below (the M key), which I wish I could have got this. Unfortunately, they are only for X5M and X6M.

Now, I had a chance to talk to the part's department. They said, it is "very" possible to program a blank key (M key) to the F10 M5. Which means, you can't go thru ordering it from the dealership, as they ship it from Germany, already hard coded against your vehicle's VIN and they have a "policy" of issuing the standard keys that comes with the regular M cars.

Now, the part's person said:

1. You need to determine the frequency of the F10 M5 based on CAS 4 keys (whatever that means, he mentioned it could be: 315 Mhz, 433 Mhz, 868 Mhz, and 915 Mhz.

2. Obtain a "blank" M key (from BMW in Germany, unless they are other sources, which he didn't know)

3. Obtain a product similar to Hi Tag 3 transponder (BMW F series cars equipped with CAS4 Immobilizer) to program such blank key from #2 above and volia!

Of course, how much $$$ is required and a reliable source of such programming is needed.

So, does anyone have any good reliable sources? Dealership(s) are out of the question!
