Congrats on your decision to get the upcoming 2014 LCI M5.

I highly doubt that you will be able to do any better than the standard 7% off of MSRP with Euro Delivery. ALL M5's in the foreseeable future will come out of dealer allocation unfortunately. If BMW changed the rules for ED, then that would be a total game changer like it was for the 2013 M5's. So I wouldn't expect that you'll will be able to get any kind of deal on your 2014 LCI M5 besides the Euro Delivery discount.

I expect that there will be no great deals, i.e. U.S. Invoice, until about June of 2014, which is one year from now. This is my educated guess though.

Good luck in September.

Maybe ditch the night vision and get full leather instead?

I'm trying to secure a Sept build date too, but limited allocations make numbers challenging... Think this is all builds are coming out of dealer allocation this year.

+1 to this. I've got a car with night vision and I've never used it. Total waste.
The full leather is really nice, you'll get much more out of it.

Nice! I'll see you there I have a Sept 2 ED as well heh heh

EDIT: Keep in mind, the nightvision I believe is a new version with animal detection, highlighting, and the spotlight which shines a light on the animal in the dark. I guess it depends where you drive but for me it will be useful.

What comes with extended leather pkg? as its std on 2014m5 and what is added with full leather? I don't see the Orange/black combo in the full leather ($3500) all my p-cars have full leather and i think it really makes the car look great.

will they do the orange black two tone with extended?

EDIT: Showed wife the pics online of full leather...... always listen to your wife..... option X3DA Sakhir Orange Full Merino Leather w/Anthracite Alcantara Headliner has been added to my order ...... what they heck its only a few bucks

Desert. Thanks i think the full leather orange option maybe too much orange for me. If they did it orange and black I would go for it. I may inquire unless someone on here knows???

As for the Anthracite Alacantra headliner, i believe that is std on 2014 if I am reading my order correctly. We have a black suede like headliner in our Cayenne Turbo that the Alacantra looks exactly like and we love it! we almost bought a rover but chose not too because the headliners we all light colors! (Note for 2014 rr you can get a black liner now but not suede =) )

Do you mean the headliner also in orange? That is a free option but may also bee too much orange for me but sure would look interesting.

Thanks for the link too. I was doing that and going back and forth when I got your msg notification =). Hard day at the office i have to say.

What to do ?????

not sure if kids are an issue or not (as it is in my case)-

i believe the full leather covers the entire seat and if the kids get their feet up it will certainly drive you crazy if they get their shoes all over the back of the leather seats (but it probably looks worse with the black!). phone pic here- the seats photo much more orange than they are

Thanks for the photo. That was a concern. We had the same problem in our Cayenne that is also full black leather. It bugged the sh** out of me !! but I got over it after a year or so and just clean often. The kiddos know not to kick or put feet on the backs . we still get some marks.

The M5 is much more cramped in the back so It may be a bit worse. Time will tell.

I really appreciate everyone's comments on the build. I am very happy and exited to own my first M car.

I am having trouble getting a confirmed Ed delivery date from my dealer. We sent an email with my three dates and they responded with "the luanch date it on sept 2". Sept 2nd was my second pick so the dealer responded to the Ed delivery team " so we can confirmed for the sept 2nd date?" and it's been a week with no confermation.

How long does it normaly take to get a confirmed date and is there a formal email or something sent ?

I am concerned that my dealer may not be following up or pushing and I may miss my planned date .

Thanks

I'd call the dealer and get on them. I had my confirmed date days after I sent in my request and got my first choice. This was only a week or two ago so sounds like the dealer is dragging their heels.

Same for me. I received my ED delivery date confirmation in about a week after my CA emailed the ED people. And I'm not sure what this 'launch date of 9/2' is about.... My delivery date is 8/29!

8/29 is my first choice. I think whom ever my dealership is talking to is very misinformed. frustrating.

They sent an email with a green check mark next to one of the requested dates which means that date is confirmed. Also received delivery time when I called the ED dept.

I requested 8/27, 8/28, 8/29. so 8/29 was my third choice.

So its been a long three+ months trying to get this darn car.....

Three dealers and three deposits later I have a confirmed Oct 7th delivery date and got what I think is a fair deal on the car (took months of back and forth and lots of frustration - I think I beat the dealer down this time vs them beating me up =) ) . Ultimately I am happy we were able to make this deal.

$127,475 MSRP for $113,920 w/Euro and PD. Discount = $13,555.
