I wasn't even thinking about it bro. I don't trust their claims.

With that same thought, since BMW does have the performance package in Europe at least, which allows for 190 mph speed, and that chip must be in some tuning shops for decryption, I wonder why that part of the coding hasn't been available for the masses that would like a boost up from our lowly 155 mph limit?! I can see how writing new code with the many inputs that have to be tweaked to make it a stable and engine protective mod is difficult, but this would just be moving the already written and factory approved code from one vehicle to another. Or is it that BMW has made it so bullet proof that no one can even read the code in the first place?

Probably this as evidenced by the fact that we haven't seen a real ECU remap of the engine software and logic yet.

To this day we still only have Press tunes and modifications there of and piggybacks. In order to raise the limiter you would have to get into the software code itself and no tuner has openly claimed that they have broken the encryption yet.

Meanwhile Audi RS7 tune's are already claiming times of 10.69s in the 1/4 mile. Sigh.

What's funny is I haven't seen not one person w the European spec speedo removed and verified w video. Much less a company remove it YET. So the balls on your shoulder bro. Make it happen. Nut check!

ACS has a speed limit removal for the 550i, but not for the M5/M6...

I don't know German so it would be helpful if the second to last paragraph of the M6 GC article was translated to English. But just looking at the technical data panel, it is saying the M6 Gran Coupe was shod with 265/30ZR21 tires which results in a 27.3" height. The stock 295/30ZR20 tires are 27.0" in height. That is literally a 1.11% difference and would only result in increasing a 305km/h limited top speed to around 308-309km/h. The M6 Gran Coupe did 328.9km/h (204+mph) around Nardo. Most cars will still not see its terminal velocity at Nardo even with the long straights.

The text above the photo of the wheel and tire says:

Quote:
In the second run, Schnitzer also resorted to rolling circumference change. Result: The electronics intervened 8km/h later than before.
In the main story it also implies that AC Schnitzer actually had managed to raise the speed limit from 305km/h to 320km/h (before they changed the tires and managed 328km/h).

Their goal had been 340km/h, but where not able to achieve that and could not find out why before they returned back to AC Schnitzer HQ...

AC Schnitzer discovered that there also was a speed limiter in the transmission that limited power at 320km/h...

So as a matter of fact it seems AC Schnitzer actually manages to raise the limit but was stopped by a before unknown transmission speed limiter at 320km/h. Just the fact that ACS managed a true 320km/h on stock tire dimensions is proof that they have been able to raise the stock limiter which is at 305km/h!!!

As is posted above. AC Schnitzer has managed to raise the limiter and clocked a true verified 320km/h on stock tires at Nardo. They had hoped to do 340km/h but lost power at 320km/h. Later discovered a second speed limiter in the transmission software which was at 320km/h. If they have found a way around that one as well, they should go well beyond 320km/h!!!

Would be interesting to find out if this also works on a US or Euro car with the 155MPH/250km/h limiter...

Can we code the 190mph limit like the Euro cars? We used to code Euro MDM on our E60 - maybe the higher speed limit is also able to be coded. Not that it amounts to anything for me - nowhere to ever try it out. Just nice to know I won't be shut down at 155 if I happen to run another car on a Mexico highway some time...
