Squeaky Brakes

Has anyone had problems with their brakes. My M5 has 5,000 miles on it and the brakes started to squeak quite bad this past month. Grip and stopping is fine. This is my 6th M car and first to have an issue with the brakes. I have an appointment next week to have them looked at.

I'm having the same issue. They don't squeak often but I've heard it a few times even after the cars been washed. My cars only got 2K miles. I don't drive it hard either.

Mine too, not that often but it's annoying. 3300 miles.

It's odd. I had the e39 M5 and 2 e60 M5's and the brakes never had any issues. They must have make some major changes. My wife's X5M is fine also.

+1. About 3,500 miles and squeaks frequently when coming to a stop, once I'm below about 5 to 10 mph.

No squeaking but a harsher grinding sound if I haven't driven in 12-24 hrs, almost like I have to take a layer of schmutz off, prob that layer of rust that always accumulates,

Had some squeaking from my brakes. Just go do a few hard stops from 80 or so and it should clean up the rotors a bit.

I've had this issue for the last month. Took it to the dealer last week. They said they fixed it, but still has the same problem. I just dropped it off for another service. Hopefully they figure this out. My last M5 and M6 and my wife's X5m have no issues. Sounds like its a major flaw with the F10, M5

I have the same problem. My car has less than 2000 miles on it. It only seems to ha;;en in cold weather. I plan to bring it t the dealer to see if they can do anything.

Same, low speed squeak when I'm 'tickling' them...

Same issue since I had 1500 miles, it's so annoying! I realized that if I let go of the brakes for a second and reapply them, the squeaking stops.

Ugh but glad I'm not alone. Brakes squeaked bad when coming to slow stop when first got car. Gradually improved over next couple of months but now bad as ever. Took to dealer on Monday morning and they say they can't reproduce it. Took SA for a drive and boom! It happened. He said he had to have tech hear it. They've taken it out several times and nothing. Told them to wash it up and I'll pick it up tomorrow

What a PITA

The squealing is getting worse and more frequent. I am planning on picking up a service tech after work today and ride with him - hopefully it's just some bad pads

My squealing only goes away for a while or so if I wash the car...

I posted about this when I first got my car a few months ago and no one seemed concerned at the time. I posted because I don't care for the brake dust and the squeal.

I solved both on my 08 M5 when I went to a low dust pad made by Carbo-Tech (ex-racers and definitely know the problem). Recently went to these on my wife's SRT Grand Cherokee which has the same dust problem. Greatly reduced the dust. I was waiting for these new M's to have more driver feedback before I order them for this car.
