And yes theres alot here members and non members whos been flagged. Its just stupid to admit here as we have some here also.
Yep can be inconsistent when pushing beyond Map 2. Map 8 with meth is nice and consistent and plenty of power to burn your clutches pretty fast
Yup agree on that! Good thing i have slow shifting manual. Lol. And i have seen cars stock clutch manual hold 900/980 whp/wtqr

Just like few people already said, anything is detectable. Flash tunes are detectable if your tuner opens or drills the DMEs. Also JB4 is detectable if the dealer knows what he is looking for. This is what we always tell all of our customers.
If you are looking to have your car tuned (Flash or JB4), its a good idea to make friends with a "mod friendly" SA. Remember, dealerships do get paid well by BMW for warranty repairs so unless there is a concrete data that gets pulled out of your car during a scan (simply put), they would be interested at closing their eyes on that little hole in the DME and getting BMW to pay for parts/labor. Just make sure that if you go with a flash tune, whoever tunes your car keeps your original (Virgin) eeprom so that you can go back to pre-tune setup in case of catastrophic failure. That way, if your car gets plugged into the scanner, there will be no software trace of a tune.

I had it on map 0, but I didn't go out of my way to hide anything. They never mentioned anything, so I assume they saw the JB4. The meth injection was very obvious though.

Everything said is spot on and restoring the eeprom pre tune is the safest way - but there could be traces in other control units, and the absence of fasta data in between the time it was flashed with the eeprom restore. It just depends on how much they want to dig... having a friendly SA and mainly a friendly tech is the best way. We haven't had any issues to date.

I had both a friendly tech and SA and it went a long way ... it really does make a difference.

At the end of day. It's safe to assume that if your mod created the catastrophic failure or any failure at all, you cannot expect and auto manufacturer to warranty it. All I can ask for is that my dealer fully diagnose the issue before blaming the mod. Having a good SA and tech helps in those areas. All my claims were 100% approved when I had issues. I've also had friends that blew rods get covered. Both cars were highly modded. Bmw did their diagnoses and on one found that a bad injector caused the issue and on the other it was something else unrelated to the mod.

Even with the original eeprom loaded back on, signs of either the hole or ECU cover removal remain.

Just get another pair of DME's and drill holes in that if you really want to have insurance.

Still not complete insurance.. you can't flash the OTP area which is unique to each DME, and again, missing or non cooresponding fasta data. It is safer though.

I mean buy new DME's codes by BMW... not clone. To clone you need to read off the original one anyways which defeats the purpose.

You can start it without a read of the original if you know how to bypass the immobilizer routine.

There is still missing fasta data if you put the original DMEs back in for warranty service. The likelihood of them looking into it this far is probably unlikely though.

how didn't they tell you though? they just flagged it, let you pick it up.. and nothing? (not that you can do anything at that point anyway)

They replaced my differential under warranty and must have flagged it during that visit. They didn't mention the mods at any point. I found out after the fact that it was indeed flagged through BMW as being ineligible for CPO because of the JB4 and meth.

If you are worried about it don't mod or go Dinan (which I believe is a waste for the $$ - ROI)

Funny, mine dynoed at 620whp with Dinan stage 2 and intake. I didn't realize your stock M6 was 600 to the wheels? Mine was 532whp stock (comp package).

I gained 99 WHP with my Dinan stage 2 and MSR intake when I had my 13 F10 M5.

If Dinan is only 20 hp, then those MSR intakes are beasts!
