M5 @ the LA Autoshow

Took a quick vid of the new M5 while I was at the autoshow. Sorry for the extreme fish eye lol, I was too close to the car, anyway, enjoy the frozen grey goodness!

I thought it looked like SILVER STONE MATT finish?

What is MSRP on base car , does it come with DCT and what is STD equipment?

Any idea what was blue color on m3 right next to it?

The guy w/ BMW I spoke to at the show said that this color and frozen black were going to be standard production and not part of the "individual" package. Was he an ass hat that didn't knwo what he was syaing or is that true?

As an SSII owner, I felt this way too, minus the blue-ish hue.

It looks like Interlagos Blue to me but guess it could be lemans also, but looks to dark for Le Mans.

The frozen silver is pulling me back into M5 land after a two-year absence. Damn, it's cool in that color.

Does anybody know if the M5 will have the same instrument panel extended leather finish option as the 2012 650?

I read somewhere that they were flared. I can see the front slightly wider but the rears I couldnt tell.

All the ones I have seen do, but not sure if that is an option or standard

I saw a frozen black up close at the Frankfurt Auto show, and it looks like a maintenance nightmare. It showed every fingerprint, and up close it just looked kind of dirty. I was seriously considering the frozen silver, but at this point, I'm going to pass.

What I would do if you want a 'frozen' look, is I would pay about $7,000 for a complete wrap of the car in a matte finish. You'll not only get exactly the same look as the 'frozen' paint, but you'll have a protective wrap on the entire car. (You'd pay $2K for a full-hood kit anyways). I've got a full body wrap on my race car, and I can tell you these things stand up unbelievably well. Then, if you don't like the frozen look, or want to resell it, you can just peel the wrap off.

The frozen colours are genuinely a terrible idea in terms of looks, maintenance and everything. They look horribly cheap. I have no idea at all why anyone would choose it - maybe its only in the UK where it's embarrassing?

I don't get the attraction to a dull paint job..
