A big part of it is where a person lives in my opinion.

If Udub were to go hang out in Colorado and be taken to all the national parks and stuff, I guarantee he would start wanting to shoot wildlife, there's just so much of it there.

Larger than I normally post, but I'm too lazy at the moment to resize.....didn't sleep at all night and just got back from the airport (I actually just posted this in the night photography thread by accident...lol). I was going mostly for a silhouette-ish shot w/ the pouring in of light thru the bar windows. Does it work?

Posting this after conversation from night photography thread

I used the window frame as my cut off point to help frame the picture more.

The only thing that bothers me is the person on the left, since he's blocking the guy sitting as wel as the glasses.

I feel like i'm trying to look around them at the bartender, which i think makes it feel more candid. At first i was bothered by it too, but i started liking it.

Thanks. lol...I need to go back thru the other pix to see what else I missed (especially any obvious things I missed). I was running on fumes when I did some of them. What else did you tweak? That pic is from SF, BTW. Laszlo @ Foreign Cinema.

All I have to say is, where is your coach now? Go Blue.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to do actually. I just wish there was someone on the right side as well to balance it out. I was by the door when I shot this so there was no chance in hell of that happening.

It could have been worse, I don't know how to use either LR3 or CS5.
Can't drive the car either.
but I know how to press a shutter button.

Wildlife is one thing but I feel like there is this clan of hard core bird photographers. I just never understood the strong attraction some people have to birds - not wildlife, but JUST BIRDS (bird watching). Again, not criticizing anyone, you can shoot whatever it is you want to shoot (God knows Chewy has an HD full of testicle macro shots), just was curious what gets people into birds specifically.

And yet, my macro lens still wasn't able to capture yours.

sounds like you need the Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x

reviews say it's basically a microscope as it doesn't have an effective area outside of about 2 through 6 inches from an object where most macros can go to infinity.
