Herb Chambers has a really stunning CPO V10 with the dynamic steering option which is a must have IMO.
There are some on R8Talk.com that disagree with the dynamic steering but I am not one of them...Ive tested it almost every reasonable and aggressive condition and agree that its a great add.

How many miles on that Herb Chambers one??

Have you driven either?
I did a test drive of the 2017 R8 V10+ today. I really liked it a lot.

Pluses:
- Steering is fantastic. Feels more precise, responsive and communicative than in the Porsche.
- Dynamic mode is really good. The transmission does exactly what you want and there is very little lag compared with the 911.1 TTS.
- Handling felt very balanced. I didn't think it took corners faster than my 991, but because the car is so balanced and the steering so precise and communicative, I felt more confident extracting the performance than I do with my 991.1
- The soundtrack is fantastic. The V10 sounds very good at full throttle.
- The interior is somewhat nicer than the 991

Negatives:
- Seating position was challenging. It didn't have enough legroom for me. The only comfortable position I could find was with the seat angled up so the back is as low as possible, and the front is high. But it still felt tight, and in this position my eyes were about the same height as the top of the side windows, so the vantage point wasn't ideal. I do wonder if I am too tall for this car.
- I think the single screen setup doesn't really work too well. Would prefer two screens or a screen and a HUD.
- While the interior is nicer than the Porsche, I was slightly disappointed. I think it photographs very well, but in is not as good as it looks. The Mercedes designo interiors on the AMG GTC is much nicer. However the Mercedes isn't a car I would consider beach it lacks AWD.

Haven't driven the 991.2 TTS. My guess is the Audi is the better car, but not sure I can live with the cramped seating position.
Go for it. You're going to love it!

Almost sold mine as I was planning to leave the country for a year but decided against it so I kept the car.

They probably bought a car off the lot and are rationalizing it.

2200 miles.

Stellar car... non plus but the red and the Nardo are hits. Plus you can do a tune to get it up to and past the V10 Plus level of HP. Afterall thats really the only engine difference between the two cars. Of course you get a lot of other items in the Plus (like CF items, CCB's, etc).

Check the msrp and pricing on that car--- I didnt know Nardo was a 3900 dollar add.

It's a nice spec. It also has the Carbon Fiber side blades. What's missing which I would like (but probably won't get without actually ordering one or buying Plus) is B&O sound and Carbon Ceramic Brakes.

I'm still dumbfounded about the fixed shocks on the plus. The V10 has the magnetoheological ones. I thought the plus might still have some form of adaptive damping but they are fixed. My guess is they did this to leave something for Lamborghini.

Honestly I dont know... also I may be wrong here but there is alot of dialogue about the B&O (again on R8Talk) where the Non Plus gets the B&O (I have it) but its an option on the Plus.

I doubt there is anything to the mag ride and Lambo. I mean, they used the same exact engine so who cares about the shocks LOL.

V10 with tune seems to be the way to go. I need to go back and fiddle with the seats. Also plan to drive the 991.2

The .2 will be the faster car... but the driving experience isnt always about fast.

With all honesty I would want both cars at the same time as they clearly look, sound, and deliver power in completely different ways.

I always liked this video LOL

Not the best pic but wanted to show you how close the fires got to my house (maybe 75 yards away)

I added a pic that I took a while back and the red arrow depicts what all burned along with the closeup of the pic below:

That's scary... but also begs a question. Assume family is safe and sound of course... and the fires were coming and you could pick ONE car to drive away in (remaining would stay back)... which would it be?

Well Ill tell you this, we had to evac so I took the most functional car; the RS7.

I really dont care if the cars burned, none of them are irreplaceable (nothing of uniqueness in reality just a few with nice wheels and a drop LOL) but what was more important was personal effects; thats what I packed when I left for 2 days.

Very scary! I lived in Malibu in the 1950s and went through some bad ones. You guys out there are so dry now.......hope some rains come for you. Light rains, I know how messy the mudslides can be. Glad you came out okay.

Thanks alot. We had a pretty good rain season in 16/17 but its a season late IMHO. My house was saved by the Santa Ana winds which blew the fire a bit more West and around my neighborhood.

I think its time to get a new car as my luck has been good

Glad you’re OK; it’s been quite a year for natural disasters in the US and elsewhere.
