I think they offer different kinds of enjoyment. Personally, for me, the GT3 is preferable to the Turbo S. To each their own I guess.

LOL, i wasnt talking about the 911 Turbo but in general. Once you own a high-end turbo car, if quickness and mods are an important variable, its difficult to go back to NA.

You drive a TT M5 and now NA is suddenly your thing LOL

Doesn't get much more high end than a daily driver that did almost 200 in the half, but I was fine going back to an NA, so-so trans in the R8, the things you gained: amazing sound, event car, all around great feel (before I destroyed that in the GT-R) didn't bother me one bit going back.

I think everyones different though, some can't ever go back for instance from my M4, M5, with Hud and other features while some like me have all but forgotten what thats like.

Pricing (while relative to what one has) was not realistic in my mind.
Once I saw and drive this RS7 I was sold and then my contacts at Audi made the pricing that much sweeter so I grabbed it.
How does the RS7 compare to the M5? I feel it would be slightly less sporty due to size.

@Vic55 what is the OEM style of those rims? I'm thinking about purchasing a RS7 but can't find those rims anywhere??? And to me they are a must!

The are the OEM wheels that come with the Performance Edition of the RS7. So I guess, absent of a part #, I would call them OEM Performance wheels.

Sorry just saw this...

I think you are right about the "sporty" feel as the car is heavier and just a bit bigger. But with that being said its still a very confident GT cruiser at higher speeds. Will it out handle the F10? I doubt it but the grip from the AWD makes it a more usable daily driver and freeway ripper than my M5 was. I love the zero wheelspin at almost every instance (just a hint at times because of the tune and increase in tq). I like this model so much more than my last one (14) because the steering feels more connected with less understeer also. The car also is not short of exhaust sound and bark which means so much to me as I pull thru the gears. I have no regrets getting this and dumping the M5 recently.

Yeah it does not out handle F10 M5, Sport Auto has tested the RS7 Performance and the lap time didn't improve from the non-performance version, still nose heavy.

But I have always maintained Audi must have a different philosophy when it comes to vehicle design, they have to know the criticisms and yet they repeatedly design nose heavy cars.

RS7 performance is a straight line bullet though.

For my driving needs with this car; it does just fine. The M5 will obviously outhandle it on a track but by how many seconds? 2 or 3? I dont care as I dont track it but for the roads I drive, this car performs and IMHO better than the M5. I do believe they changed up the Performance edition vs the C7 (mine is the C7.5 and my 14 was the C7) sways and steering because I dont have that dreaded understeer or to add tq steer even with the tune.

And while looks are highly subjective; it doesnt look like much out there and I like that

Exactly, that's my point. Audi isn't stupid so they have to know that their cars are nose heavy. But at the same time they probably think it's safer when amateurs drives powerful cars, better to have AWD and understeers.

Annoying attributes on the track could be a good thing on the road, maybe thats why Audi design the way they do.

I think while all four major players (BMW, MB, Audi, and Porsche) all compete in the performance business saloon market, they each have a different take on it and hence the cars have different characteristics.

1000%... I have been fortunate enough to enjoy a decent spread of all the nameplates and they all serve different purposes at least for me. I do feel the Benz with the E63S will be incredible once they actually are released stateside (they are on lockdown at the VPC's).

Vic, this is a fine looking car. Honestly, when I assess the new M5, E65 AMG vs. the older RS7 from a perspective of a good all around daily driver I may have to give the nod to Audi. Granted a tad heavy, but my view it's not a track car nor are the others ......it's not fun chewing up tires lugging 4k lbs around.

The other cars BMW being the better looker, and AMG better motor the Audi combines the two making up for the faults of the other two. Audi engine fantastic, nice interior, stock upgraded wheels best in the business with sexy looks. The AMG the look has to grow on you a tad bit, and BMW sounds terrible thus hats off to the RS7 for T4 family hauler. There is still not a 4 door I'm willing to cut a check for so I will keep driving the Pcars, and the Escalade 2011 with 17miles no problems.

Why is there an area of the paint that's high gloss (behind the front tires, above the side skirts?

Vic,

Man I love that Matte Daytona color!! Car looks awesome.

Are you sitting on just the standard H&R sport springs? Any change in the ride quality?

Also you mentioned more torque from a tune, which tune did you decide to go with?

Im running the only springs H&R offers, I think which are Sport in nature. The ride is good still; its a little more taut over some rough patches but Im good with that. The car feels and handles pretty damn good for a 4500 lb beast and I have no expectations of it becoming a track beast. Its very stable in turns at higher speeds and extremely planted at speeds well over 100. I could have gone KW but have been having good luck with H&R outside of my BMW drops (they were bouncy).

Im running OE Tuning for the tune; zero issues, no cylinder 5 misfires, no issues waiting until its at 140 degrees (oil temp) that some other tune(s) are having concerns with.
