Evolve R Cable now available for Fxx Cars

Evolve-R
The Evolve-R is our latest revolutionary hardware release for Fxx cars, enabling customers to load our industry leading ECU software upgrade directly into their vehicles themselves, at home.

The Evolve-R is an OBD-II compatible device which connects to your vehicles OBD-II port and your laptop. via a supplied USB cable.

We call it revolutionary because no other tool can cover as many vehicle protocols. Our unit will cover most European models that we carry tunes for (new vehicles will be added weekly) (Diesels to follow)

In the pack you receive there will be the evolve-R OBD-II adaptor with USB cable. By email you will also receive a link to the instruction manual and software, also found below.

Installation

Installation is a breeze. Simply:

Install the Windows software downloaded from this link
Plug the Evolver into the OBD-II port of your vehicle, and the other side into your laptop
The software will read out your ECU data and create a file, which you email to Evolve to tune
We send you back the tuned file and you write this to your vehicle.
And your done. Your new ECU software is in your vehicle and a copy of both the original and upgraded version is stored on your laptop.

Go between stock and tuned file at your convenience.

Hi Jonathan, have you had some time to play with the OBD kit?
Any first impressions?

Impressive! I see on the Evolve R website that you have the ability to ecu flash an n54 535i... are you able to do the same for a 2011 535i N55?

We have been tuning these cars since bench flashing was possible and have had our own demo F10 M5 (in the videos) since then. We have been able to flash via OBD with this cables after patching for around a year. This just makes our tuning more accessible to those who want it. :-)

good bit of effort gone into that stage 2 map. keeping the torque flat for another 1000rpm top end makes all the difference. Strong power right to the redline. hate seeing maps that top out around 6k then die.

Thank you for the kind words!

We have spent a lot of time developing our F10 M5 calibration and truly are happy with the results. From our many VBOX and roll-race results, we are confident that the top end of our Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes are very strong. No doubt there is an intricate balance in keeping the turbos within their efficiency range, while still putting down optimal power consistently.

So got the new file back from evolve.

1,Switch on the ignition
2,Read the ECU and saved the file to the desktop.
3,Downloaded the zipped stage 2 file from evolve
4,Inserted the new stage 2 file into the Evolve R software page
5,Inserted the saved file again
6,Switched off the Car
7,We have a mapped Car

did have to ring the guys at Evolve to make sure i had completed the steps correctly which hopefully i have documented correctly.

sadly i encountered a misfire which i'm having checked out by my local garage which we suspect is spark plugs, which are being replaced tomorrow hopefully then i can try the car again when i am back from working away for 2 weeks, what i will say is that the car is a pure animal now, bit gutted about the plugs but that modding and that's life eh.
i was advised to change the plugs out on my second service by BMW but with the car having 20k miles i thought id pick it up next time, so guys if your going to map your car and have not changed your plugs yet i suggest you make it priority the next time the cars in for work to avoid any disappointment.
A question for Evolve tuning, do you recommend colder spark plugs for your stage 2 tune and/or reducing the gap?

What about the stage 1 tune, original plugs or colder and/or re-gap?

I am seriously considering a stage one Evolve tune and being located in Scotland the OBDII flash would be a great way for me to do it. I'm just sitting on the fence for the moment. Probably I just need a bit of a push!

I've watched Imran's videos which I must say are very impressive!

I will be very interested to hear the eventual outcome of Jonathan Kelly's misfires.

Our ECU tunes were developed on factory spark plugs, so it isn't entirely needed for our Stage 1 and 2 ECU tunes to run a colder plug. It certainly won't hurt though.

Let us know if we can set you up with an ECU tune! We manage the North America market, but Imran in the UK can definitely get you sorted.

Great to hear that everything is back in working order! We have been finding that a lot if the later BMWs are going through plugs a bit quicker, even on totally stock cars.

As fun as modifying cars is, no doubt that maintenance is crucial.

Keep us posted as you get more seat time with our tune.

Now with the capability to tune via OBDII with our Evolve Automotive EvolveR Cable, there have been many happy F10 M5s on the streets! Here is another dyno graph of one of the latest F10 M5s that we tuned.
